Parking is hard to get, and you have to approach from odd angles because the drive-through is so popular that it affects local traffic. And, sadly, not all the customers share the same idea of the civility that is the hallmark of this chain: my chair was rocked by two sets of rotten kids (whose mothers were with them) in the booth behind me (cleaned in a flash after the first bunch left by the amazing Chick-fil-A staff). Oy. It's hard not to give the place four stars because everything was so well done - my kudos to the owner, management and staff - but this late-lunch visit only rates an "okay" because the super-popular place was such a madhouse. A large guy brought my order and I asked if it had 2 gravy dipping sauces? He said no only 1. I told him I'd ordered an extra dipping gravy which he said it would be an Extra charge now. Since I'd already paid I just said forget it and left. Once home I looked at my order and there was NO Gravy dipping sauce!!! So I called back to Whataburger to report this. I was also curious what they'd say. But, after I explained about my order and experience. He told me the big guy who checked my order was an assistant mgr.;but, he did not apologize for their mistake, inconvenience or offer a free meal or anything! Just CRICKETS! Since I didn't have any other plans for dinner I decided to walk over and check it out. On the cashier's recommendation I decided to try the hatch chile burger (yeah, it's Albuquerque after all!) with onion rings and a prickly pear-raspberry drink. I felt like the burger was a pretty standard fast food burger - while large, I don't particularly judge my food by volume. It is nice that they have southwestern flavors, but per the menu it doesn't seem like they are available on smaller burgers. I was happy that the onion rings were battered & fried, rather than those weird breaded rings that seem to be extruded minced onion. They also have a spicy ketchup that isn't really all that spicy but is a nice change from regular ketchup. I was glad to see that they had more than just soda available for drinks. However, I did feel like it was a tad expensive for what it is - I probably won't seek them out even if they do eventually open a franchise near home.

Since I moved here so many eons ago this place has been one of the New Mexico staples right next to Blakes Lotaburger. A personal favorite day to go for me is on Tuesdays. Why? Well it's taco Tuesday every Tuesday there. At a buck forty a pop those bad boys will tame and satisfy even the greatest of hungers. At first glance the taco burger doesn't seem like much but it packs a punch. An all American beef patty snuggled between a slice of cheese, their famous green chili sauce, and lettuce it's a delicious treat. This location does a superb job getting the orders out in a timely manner with excellent customer service. See you next Tuesday Bob's Burgers!

The drive-through (which I did not use) was turning like a piston in an engine. Even the restroom was clean (possibly because you need a code to get in - 1967, btw - but that can't be it because the dining room looked like a model showroom for a Wendy's). The outstanding Cannibus store "Altitude" is right behind this place.
