Hopefully, it won't be the last. Unlike my buddy Jerry S., I have traveled to Turkey, and I admit I had better yoghurt kebab in Ankara, in fact I remember the meals I ate in Turkey as some of the best I've ever had. Still, Bosphorous is excellent. Perhaps the combination of hot meat, vegetables, and yoghurt appeals to my tastes, I don't know, but the food is spectacular. We also had the mixed starter with grape leaves and a variety of dipping sauces (hummus, taziki or whatever the Turks call it, and a weird fish egg thing). I've never liked anything wrapped in grape leaves--until now! Do yourself a favor and stick to one of the yoghurt-based dishes. My wife had a non-yoghurt dish, what I would call some kind of Turkish fajita, served on a hot metal plate; it was tragically forgettable. The baklava was the perfect way to end the meal. Go for the added ice cream, you've earned it! It's a small serving, just the right amount of sweetness to end the night off without pushing you over the edge into diabetic coma, as seems to be the aim of many baklava varieties. On a warm summer night, though, with an open kitchen, this place is roasting inside. Try to score a table out front, or near a window. Maybe this is makes it more authentic? I don't know, but wear deodorant--you're going get a good sweat going.

Always delivers a great atmosphere as it's quite popular amongst locals even midweek. It's somewhere you could go for a laid back meal or that of a celebration as it caters for everyone. As you are seated the waiters bring you complimentary bread and salads whilst you peruse your options on the menu. The menu is quite extensive but the general gist is chicken or lamb with rice and salad. I tend to go for the spicy minced lamb and cubes of lamb or the stuffed peppers which are cooked perfectly and full of flavour. A main dish will set you back around £11-£12 but they do an offer on Sunday-Tuesday whereby you can get 2 courses for £12.99 which is well worth the money! Overall I cannot fault it which is why I am a regular customer and will continue to be so!! Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

For a layover: Just hop the train from the Stansted airport, it is the first stop. The train costs seven pounds (including the return fare...don't forget to book it together) and it is about a 7-10 minute train ride. As soon as you exit the arrivals gate you go through the the food court and straight down the ramp to the "Stansted Express" train. Donte get fooled by the bus line. If you don't go down a ramp then you are not buying a train ticket. The train ticket machines take cash and use credit cards. They give change if you don't have small bills. Simply pick the stop as Bishops Stortford and then add in first or regular class (first isn't worth the extra money, it is junk). To find this great dining spot just get off of the train and turn right and then head towards town. Turn left on a somewhat industrial street and cross the bridge. The first street to your right will take you to the restaurant and the second street takes you to the little downtown. When you get to the corner with Witherspoon's and Port Cafe look to your right across the river again and you will see Skew. It is a Turkish restaurant with vegetarian options even though the name or decor doesn't look Turkish. Looks more like an upscale club environment. The service and food was impeccable. Check out my photos to see the real food and description as well as the menu. I'd definitely go back! Make the first left and then the first right and you'll see on your right. It is a little bit hidden so if you see the Weatherspoon or MNS food hall or snap fitness you were at the right spot.to head and make a quick right your first left into town and the first right and you will look to the right there is the river and and Witherspoon and then you will also see SKEW Weatherspoon is more of a chain restaurant versus SKUW which is upscale with wonderful prices and service.

The quality and delivery of Turkish cuisine is consistently the same. I really like to go on Sunday lunch because you can get a three course meal for two for only £19. Please see the pictures I took and added to see what you can get in the deal. We got a delicious cold mezze appetizer with fresh baked bread. It was to die for. Followed with a mixed meat selection with pilaf rice and a yogurt and spicy dipping sauces. It was probably the best meal I've had at Dalyan/Turkuaz. My favorite so far. It came with fresh salad, tomatoes, pickled cabbage and carrots. For desert we were served fresh fruit, an assortment of honey dew melon, oranges, and kiwi and two baklavas. It was delicious. I was struggling to finish all three courses, but thoroughly enjoyed myself. The waiter is awesome because he helped us chose our lunch and helped us get the most for our money and he suggested the special because it came with the most food and on top of that it was delicious! I can't wait to go to Dalyan again. I highly suggest it!

Our waiter let us taste several wines before we chose. However, everything on the menu is priced about 2-3£ more than comparable places in Cambridge.
