They have just reorganised their entrance, and created a long corridor of veggies/fruits on one side and bakery on the other. I'm not sure I like the new layout as much, as it makes you feel trapped until you get to the back wall, but others might. In the summer it is impossible to step into the shop without a heavy jacket and scarf. Their refrigerators are not capable of regulating their temperature properly, and as a result the store is colder than a skating rink. You can feel the shock upon walking in, it's quite bad. Their selection is pretty good for a small-ish store, and I must admit I'm impressed with the size of the alcohol section. (But then again, when in Britain) Tip: If you go after work (18:00-19:00) you may find no bakery goods left over. However! If there are some, they are going to be seriously discounted. (10p instead of 30p for the mini-baguette!)

The prices are reasonable to slightly expensive, and the range is adequate for a small store, but you wouldn't do a large shop there due to its lack of complete range, and the distance between the store and the parking complex. The store is often busy, with all tills open and queues still being present. There is a separate newsagents area at the front of the store, and there are still often queues at this till during peak moments of the day. The service is reasonable, and the staff pleasant on most occasions.

We have to keep looking for staff who can tell us where things are and they cannot enjoy this continual distraction. Meat tends to be packaged in portions for 2 or 4 and larger joints are harder to come by. The fresh meat and fish counters vary in terms of stock but all is good. The deli is excellent with a good choice. Waitrose entertains is available in store as is glass hire. Staff are vey friendly and offer good assistance. There is a self-scan facility which speeds up checkout. Waitrose are participating in a community scheme benefitting local charities at the moment which appeals. Battery and plastic bag recycling are available in store. The car park is well maintatined and trolleys and baskets are always available, dry and in good condition. Opening hours vary throughout the week with extended hours towards the weekend.

Cons As it's a Local, it doesn't have the full range so you don't get all the value items- which I suppose is OK if you just need top-up shopping but it is quite annoying if you want savings.

The wine section seems almost smaller than the one in Weybridge 2. Sometimes, I've had to wait longer in the check out queue than other Waitrose shops 3. There's no good place to get a coffee (No, the free myWaitrose doesn't count, nor does the Costa across the street). Better food than the Sainsbury's in Chertsey, but no petrol, better selection than the Waitrose in Weybridge, with better parking, but no good coffee... Oh well, always a compromise in Surrey.
