While in Arbedeen for work, 8848 was recommended to me by more than one individual. I headed over…read moreto check it out on a Tuesday. Upon entering I was great by a warm smile and a helpful manor from the staff. The atmosphere was a confused mix in an attempt to be upscale contemporary crossed with leftover Asian knick-knacks. I ordered a bottle of 2014 Cabernet for 45 eros. I am accustomed to spending money on good wine but the waiter brought a 2011 (which was a horrible year) without alerting me of the change. After tasting the waiter confirmed the mistake and brought me a different bottle since they were out of the requested wine. For an app, I had the dumplings with lamb. These were fantastic. Highly recommend these if you are knowledgeable about properl

amazing service and delicious food! what a gem of a place. it feels a bit random to have such good…read moreindian food in aberdeen, but this place is proof of that statement :) i LOVE that they're not afraid to actually have spicy dishes (my nose got a tad runny! i feel like a lot of restaurants here say spicy but they're not actually that spicy) starter: pan fried vegetable manchurian. wow so good and spicy!!! full of flavor and the sauce ties everything together so well main: bagara mixed delight. again, packed full of flavor. it contained an assortment of vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, potato, carrots, bell pepper, onion) and chickpeas in a sweet spicy curry sauce. it's creamy and delicious! comes with rice too i also got a side of the whole wheat nan bread that was layered and buttered. damn, this also was so good. fairly thin so the outer parts are crispy but the inside is nice and soft/doughy. i also got a mango lassi which was not overly sweet but sweet enough to taste the mango. would definitely recommend if you get a spicy dish since the yogurt cuts the spice really well. servers were really nice and always checking on customers. love it here!!!

Seriously though, the cuisine was really good. The wait person was great in that he quizzed us on likes and dislikes, heat and no heat, protean type, onions, tomato questions? Once he had all that, he said he would take care of the entree - and he definitely did - one shrimp, one lamb along with coconut rice and vegetable nan. Most excellent! Within 10 minutes walk of Union Station. Clean, good service, great food - Highly recommend.

He recently brought me here since he's a fan of this place and soon I too became a fan. The poppadom was very good. My starter for the meal was a curry soup and this alone could fill you up. It was like a carrot curry but creamier. Definitely something you should try. Our main courses were the Bengal special and another dish which had lamb, chicken, and beef in some rice with a fried egg on top with a nice vegetable curry on the side. We also ordered some coconut naan which was to die for. So in short, the food = great! The prices are your standard Indian restaurant prices. It was around 9-12 pounds a dish. Additional poppadom for another 3 pounds. The place is great for business meals, family functions, special and/or casual dinners. The waiters and the owner are very friendly and helpful. And of course, the place was very clean and impressive. All in all, a great place to go for a lunch or dinner.
