Good for catching up on English language movies while in Madrid. It has a lot of screensbut not all ofthem are in English

They show great old movies that change each month…read more They do themes each month sometimes featuring a specific director, actor, genre, etc. There's always something for everyone and if you're not that into one month's selections, you know it'll change the next month. Tickets are very cheap and the theater itself is really cool. They also don't dub any movies which is great.

This is a beautiful little cinema that plays old, old, old movies. Each month has a different…read moreschedule and for 2,50€ a ticket! Now why is this even interesting for tourists!?!? 1) films range from old ones (1936!) to fairly new (2010). This is not the actual range, they carry films that are much older and films that are newer. But you just never know what to expect! 2) If I live in Madrid, this is where I'd like to spend my evenings. 3) The movie I watched was a Czech Republic 1996 film, played with Spanish subtitles. The subtitles messed up after 20 minutes, so they played a dubbed version for the rest of the film. For either version, I had no clue what anyone was saying. Still I was sitting there going, "Ahhh!!! Old foreign films!" 4) Basically it's like TIFF Lightbox in Toronto, but much cheaper tickets. Again, #2 5) It is also a public library!! with music, films, old documents. All relating to film and film history. AGAIN. #2 If you want to learn Spanish, don't just limit yourself with classes! come here!! I came alone by the way. Also there are lots of people here! I didn't think they want to spend an evening like this, but they do! Yay Madrid!
