El servicio fue muy amable, y la palomita puede ser la mejor que nunca he probado. Bastante económico también.

After searching and searching in Madrid for a theater that plays English movies in English, we've…read morefinally found it. Now, I don't mean a theater that plays some mediocre films in English sometimes. No, I mean a theater that plays blockbusters when they are released and other good movies in English. Looking to get out for the day, my family and I pounced on this theater once we saw that they were playing movies in English, and when we arrived we discovered so much more. The theater is directly next to Plaza de España and there are multiple parking garages around (we spent around 9€ to park in one for around 3 hours). You could truly make a day out of this little area if you were so inclined. Also, directly connected to and around the theater are tons of different restaurants. From McDonald's and Burger King to tapas, tapas, tapas, you will not go hungry here. In the theater, you'll see that they have 11 different showrooms, multiple bathrooms throughout, and a rather diverse yet limited refreshment stand (for four large drinks and a large popcorn we spent around 20€). Additionally, you'll notice that the entire place to include the bathrooms and showrooms are abnormally clean for a theater. Needless to say, the place is big. You can either buy your tickets in person or online. This theater's website is extremely easy to navigate and purchase tickets through, but we chose instead to purchase in person. For our family of four we paid 38€ for tickets. The tickets are assigned seating, which can be a good or bad thing depending on the timing. Now, here is where I have to be a little negative or at least constructively criticize the theater. The showrooms, although they have very comfy chairs, the type you can just sink into, are shotgun style (meaning they have one aisle and are long not wide, see picture) and the floor is not inclined but level. When these two features combine they can make watching a movie difficult, especially for smaller you gets audiences. Also, the showrooms are very warm. For some reason the AC was not on, which might be a persistent issue or just bad timing on our part. Additionally, for the the cinephiles who love cinematography and it's historical elements, there is a mini museum dedicated to such beyond the ticket counter. Overall, this theater is still getting a five-star review from me simply due that they offer drinks and other refreshments and, most importantly, play good movies in English multiple times throughout the week. Note: if you ever see V.O.S.E, it means that this movie at whatever time it's connected to plays in its original language. Usually that means English but it can mean other languages as well. Enjoy!

Now why is this even interesting for tourists!?!? 1) films range from old ones (1936!) to fairly new (2010). This is not the actual range, they carry films that are much older and films that are newer. But you just never know what to expect! 2) If I live in Madrid, this is where I'd like to spend my evenings. 3) The movie I watched was a Czech Republic 1996 film, played with Spanish subtitles. The subtitles messed up after 20 minutes, so they played a dubbed version for the rest of the film. For either version, I had no clue what anyone was saying. Still I was sitting there going, "Ahhh!!! Old foreign films!" 4) Basically it's like TIFF Lightbox in Toronto, but much cheaper tickets. Again, #2 5) It is also a public library!! with music, films, old documents. All relating to film and film history. AGAIN. #2 If you want to learn Spanish, don't just limit yourself with classes! come here!! I came alone by the way. Also there are lots of people here! I didn't think they want to spend an evening like this, but they do! Yay Madrid!
