Because of this, the place is not very popular and is never completely full. Sometimes the place hosts other kind of artistic events, but I recommend checking the website first. However, the place is not very comfortable. It can get really cold and it needs urgent maintenance. Then again, you must understand that the income is not very high. A few years ago the place was endangered and it was on the verge of disappearance. All in all, this is a very nice place to visit.

Lastarria is known for its boho-chic "hipster" vibes and it is the perfect setting for this independent theater who show the best selection of indie and european films in the city. The ambiance is fun and 'funky' with plush chairs adding to the enjoyment of these international films. The only downside is that films tend to have a long shelf life -- you can come back from a month-long holiday and they will still be showing the same flick as when you left.
