The greeter quickly meets you at the door to explain the routine, take a drink order, and get your table arranged. You are then released to the buffet to fill your bowls. The chefs are always friendly and will cook the meal to your preference--I usually ask for little oil and they can accommodate with extra water to lighten the meal up. The chef will also help choose your sauce and can offer a taste if you are uncertain. If you are interested in adding shrimp to your plate make sure you tell the chef, they can be added for an additional charge. Overall it is a good experience and I return over and over. It beats the typical "Chinese" buffets where the Mongolian BBQ is either an after thought or too busy for good service.

Christmas Morning, 2024, around 12:45 PM, we were on our way back to Brownsville from Harlingen,…read morenot much was open as far as restaurants, so remembering on our way to Harlingen that day, we noticed that this place was open, so we thought, it Christmas Day, few establishments are open and we're hungry, so we pulled in and walked to the door, there were only a few people in front of us, but noticed the self service drink area was a mess and a turnoff, unorganized, only 1 ice dispenser was working, which took longer to get our teas, which should have only taken seconds, we make it the cashier, she only says "$48.76", very impolite & impersonal, not very welcoming. My first though was WOW! I though this was kind of pricey for a self service buffet, even if it is all you can eat. But, we were there and were hungry. I pulled out my debt card and she indicated, "its cash only today, the machine is not working". There were no signs on the door or at the cashier indicating as such. we didn't have enough cash to pay, I commented you should tell people at the door about this, she said nothing like sorry or anything, we left our teas at the cashier and walked out. My though is this, as a previous restaurant owner, these credit card readers rarely go down, if they do, the process is simple to reset them, they have 24 hour help lines to assist you, so that was total BS. I leave it up to you as to speculate why it was only cash on a day they were less than a handful of places to eat. NO Brainer! BAD EXPERIENCE. Never got to see or try the food so I can't comment on that, but I assure we will never try again... We ended up at Taco Palenque, we had good food, excellent service at more than half the price.
