We went to Ciao Bella for dinner and we had an amazing experience. We came into the restroom which had a great atmosphere and ambiance. It was all decorated up for Easter Sunday which is tomorrow. The serves was great, we were greeted right away and sat right away. They filled our waters and brought us the bread to start and gave us time to look at the menu. We started with fried ravioli, pear and Gorgonzola salad, and the the glazed Brussels sprouts. The salad was a little small for the price but the taste was great! The Brussel sprouts were delicious and well glazed. Then the fried ravioli were really good filled with a mix of cheese that was delicious and a side of marinara. They were all great and were great to share! Then for the mains we ordered the Gnocchi, gnocchi with Alfredo sauce and were cooked perfectly! Both sauces were delicious and tasted like they were made in house. I ordered the pasta allá puttanesca and it was great. The spaghetti was cooked perfectly and it had two types of olives and crushed tomatoes and was perfect. Then other people ordered a BBQ chicken pizza and the capricciosa pizza which were both great. We tried the tiramisu to finish off the dinner and it was some great desert. It was definitely made in house and was delicious. The service was great as it was very busy and the staff handled all of our needs and flipped tables very quickly around us. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a great Italian meal. read more

What an awesome find in New Smyrna!!! We were visiting family for Spring Break and made a day trip to New Smyrna when we saw Ciao Bella. It looked adorable from the outside and it was even cuter inside! There are plenty of seating options both inside and outside, so we opted for inside as a storm was coming. We had an excellent server named Astoria. She was so thoughtful and attentive and made great menu suggestions. We ordered spaghetti with Marina and a cheese pizza for our kids, and my husband ordered the chicken pesto panini and I ordered the pear Gorgonzola salad. Astoria brought out the most delicious, warm and toasty ciabatta bread to start with a delectable garlic oil. I'm so glad I tried it because I usually ask for balsamic to add to the oil, but this garlic oil was perfect with the bread on its own!! Don't miss this if they ask if you want bread! The food arrived quickly and was all super hot and freshly made. The pizza was like true New York thin crust pizza. Seriously soooo good and cheesy and steaming hot! We took leftovers to family l and they even said it was the best pizza they've ever had in Florida. The spaghetti had just the right amount of marina sauce and our daughter ate it for lunch and then had her leftovers for dinner. My salad was perfectly dressed with just the right amount of pears and Gorgonzola, and my husband ate his entire sandwich and loved it. It was on the same bread as the appetizer bread. I'm sure this place gets slammed at night because it was so delicious, the ambiance is lovely, and it's in such a great location. We would definitely plan on coming back the next time we're in town. read more

This might be our favorite place in NSB! Food is absolutely delicious. I got the short rib ravioli special with tender pieces of beef on top and inside the ravioli. All of the past sauces are light yet flavorful, the perfect compliment to each dish. Our server Stanis was incredible, super personable and very attentive. I went out because I had been watching them over Facebook and looking at their pasta flights and their drink flights and such I got there they weren't busy at all. I was about 5:30 PM. Ordered a drink and an appetizer. I told her I wasn't in a hurry at that point things got crazy and I was OK with all that and I was I was sitting there came out with food and they said it was chicken Parmesan and I ordered veal Parmesan so I didn't answer That was quite some time waiting for even any of the one of four people that were at the bar to ask me if I wanted anything if I wanted to go box or anything I had my appetizer backed up. It was crazy. These girls were not organized in any way shape or form. The food was fair. I'll go back another time and try it maybe not on a weekend when they're not busy, maybe when they're like totally dead I don't know. I was not impressed. read more

We had dinner at Ciao Bella and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. We started at the bar with a couple of drinks, and they were made to absolute perfection. The fresh ingredients made it feel like we were at a true mixology bar. For dinner, we shared a pizza as an appetizer--wow! It was incredibly delicious, clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Then we tried the house special, baked ziti with what I believe was some deli meat mixed in--oh my goodness, it was mouthwatering! Every bite was rich and flavorful. The service was excellent, too. The evening was off to a rough start. We made reservations, table for 4 at 7:30. Upon arrival we were seated next to the restrooms while the place was less than half full. When the waitress arrived she said her name was Cassandra, left menus, and said she would be back to take our drink order. At least 20 minutes passed, and she didn't even look in our direction, but spent her time laughing and chatting with people she knew. We debated leaving to go to another restaurant, but asked the hostess to move us to a different table with another server. She took our drink and food order right away and a short time later our carpaccio and order of calamari arrived. Both were delicious. Shortly after our main dishes arrived. Chicken Marsala, Salmon Picatta and Shrimp Scampi. Portions were huge and very good. Our second server, Jade, (great!) saved the night. read more

We have been to ciao Bella before for drinks and the drinks are where they shine. We had dinner as well on the 2nd occasion. While the food was good it did not meet the quality that the price would demand. The cheese on the veal parm was melted but not browned at all so it does not appear very appealing. The appetizers have 2 small pieces each at $15 a plate. The marinara sauce is very very good. But we just found the prices were more than it was worth when we can go to higher end restaurants for similar or less cost and have a better meal. The food was good and enjoyable but it would have been better or priced a little better for what it is. They do have a pretty ambiance and it is a great place for drinks. read more

We were in town to visit some friends who live here. Our table for lunch at another nearby restauarant was about a 30 minute wait so we decided to have a drink at this place. It was a great choice. Two members of our party had espresso Martinis and I had a tropical mojito. Both drinks tasted great. Service was also quick and professional. The ambiance is nice. read more

What a great vibe for dinner! They are masters of martinis and if you are looking for creative cocktails and yummy martinis this is your place! With outdoor and indoor bar seating it's a great place to grab a drink before dinner or just for fun with friends. There was also live music on the outdoor patio which made the outdoor patio so great! The menu is classic Italian food and the highlight for me was the sauce of the chicken piccata. I apologize for almost posting a month later. It's been busy for me the last couple weeks getting back from my trip to NSB, now I have time to sit and leave my review. Me and a friend was visiting a friend down in New Smyrna and part of my trip I was looking forward to is not being here in cold a** Wisconsin. Before our trip, my friend that traveled with me was informed by her friend about The Garlic. I said why not, let's give it a shot for dinner on Saturday. Our friend took us a round town about 6:30 when we decided to go to The Garlic and was informed that there was a 2 HOUR wait and that they didn't take reservations. Luckily, my friend thought of another back up plan for us. She brought us here to Ciao Bella and was relieved, however when we arrived that they were only taking reservations to which I was like. "Well girls, I guess it won't ne a chicken parm night for my birthday." As we were about to leave, we were told that they may have room for the 3 of us and I was super happy! We received menus and one of my friends ordered meatballs in fire for the table and when they took down our drink order the red blend wine was not in stock that I was interested in. Not a biggie, I decided to go with a Merlo and to my surprise they sent one of their employees to another restaurant that was owned by the same owner and was beyond happy and gitty :). The meatballs, oh my word! The gorgonzola sauce was not overpowering, the meatballs were tender and just tasty. I placed my order of chicken parm that I've been looking forward to all day. I apologize about the pics due to the lightening, but the meal met my expectations. Chicken was juicy and nice flavored breading. To end the evening on a really special note, they brought a birthday balloon to our the table, a cannoli followed by a song from the employees. Ciao Bella really showed out that night and I was blessed to share this wonderful experience with two of my good friends. There is no doubt in my mind I will be back next time NSB. My husband's coworker told us the food at Ciao Bella offered better Italian food than other local options. It was a game time decision to go and I am glad we did. We just happened to be there during a wine walk. Loved the singer outside and loved to see the staff dancing and having fun. Our server was Heath and he was so helpful! He directed us to the meatballs in fire for an appetizer. LOVED. Would highly recommend hanging on to the cream sauce to dip your bread in. I also wouldn't mind that sauce on pastas either! Super good. I tried the lasagna bolognese and my husband had the veal parm. You can't go wrong with a classic bolognese! Heath did tell us the gnocchi is homemade. Normally, that's my go to but I was craving a pasta! I did see it at another table and it did look good. Lobster ravioli is also a crowd favorite, I'm told. My husband and found Ciao Bella by accident driving toward the beach! What an incredible place! They played great music, Fred Astaire and had a outside Martini bar area that is an eye catcher! We got drinks and deserts, had a delicious limoncello cake that was perfectly paired with a limoncello shot that we poured over the cake! The key lime pie cocktail was the perfect mix of sweet and creamy decadence! Our waiter was very attentive and helped with recommendations, we will try dinner next time we are there!! read more

We had a wonderful dining experience at Ciao Bella. While I've ordered delivery before and had the carpaccio and the pear salad, which was delicious, I've been wanting to go here since it looked to have such a nice ambiance too... and it most certainly does. We had the pleasure of being served by Frankie, who was attentive, knowledgeable and simply a joy to interact with. The ambiance was as lovely as I had hoped, and while it is noisier inside, on a chilly night, it was nice and cozy. The main event though, the food: was spectacular. While we pondered the menu, we received homemade focaccia with a yummy garlic and herb infused olive oil for dipping to snack on. Frankie then recommended both our dishes, the spaghetti and meatballs, along with the carbonara (which is someone's family recipe, I can't remember who at the moment) and both were absolutely delicious. I had dined at Ciao Bella twice in the past couple of years and thoroughly enjoyed the lobster ravioli, which made me look forward to returning. Unfortunately, my most recent visit will likely be my last. We arrived at 5:30 p.m. with a reservation, and the dining room was nearly empty--only one other table was occupied. Despite this, when we were led to a table directly in front of the bar, I politely asked if we could be seated at a booth instead. There were several unoccupied two-top booths available, so the request wouldn't have affected seating logistics. However, the server declined any other options. To start, my friend and I shared the pear and Gorgonzola salad, which was excellent, and I enjoyed the signature cocktail. Unfortunately, things quickly took a turn. A man--who we believe was the owner--began throwing poppers (small firecrackers) behind our table while with his two young daughters. This went on intermittently for about ten minutes. My friend, with her back to them, kept getting startled. I was visibly uncomfortable. To her credit, the bartender made several comments to him about there being customers present and later cleaned up their mess. Still, the behavior was wildly inappropriate for a dining setting. When our entrees arrived, the once-delicious lobster ravioli was overcooked, with edges so tough it was nearly inedible. After two bites, I set it aside. It took approximately 15 minutes for anyone to check in, despite the restaurant remaining mostly empty. I also requested a fresh Diet Pepsi, as mine was mostly diluted from melted ice. Instead of bringing a new glass, the server refilled the old one--and I had to ask again through another staff member to finally get a fresh drink. To make matters worse, I watched her remove my straw with her hands and place it back into the glass, with no handwashing in between--fully visible from our seat near the bar. To their credit, the staff offered to remove the entrée from the bill without me asking, which I appreciated. Still, the overall experience was disappointing, especially given how much I had been looking forward to returning. If the man throwing the poppers was indeed the owner, it reflected poorly on the establishment and set a troubling standard for hospitality. Regrettably, I won't be returning. read more
