I'm going to get the negative bit out of the way first and even that isn't a reflection of the club itself. My son's love of CI Minis means that I have to spend an hour every Saturday morning exposed to the elements with a fixed smile on my face. Not good, especially if it's a Saturday morning after the night before. So short of building me some kind of centrally heated bubble to watch from, I have nothing but good things to say about this club.
Minis starts at 10.00am and there are plenty of Henson wannabes aged 6 and up but there are enough coaches on hand to ensure that it's very well structured and organised. The session is a mix of skills practice and games which put the skills into use and the kids (there is at least one girl) love it, even in the driving rain.
The coaches are approachable and friendly and pay attention to safety and behaviour too - the boys cannot play unless they have the right kit and bad behaviour is not tolerated. The kids are spilt into groups according to age, with the under sevens playing for an hour and everyone else playing for an hour and a half.
The cost is a very reasonable £45 a season so CI minis ticks all the boxes for me and for number two son as well. A rare and very welcome thing! read more
