On New Year's Day, I stopped in on my way home when I saw the tent outside of Summerlin Takeout! I had them before after Foodie fest with my friends but I had showed up late and they weren't fresh- still good. Today I tried them straight out of the fryer! The owners are husband and wife. The wife is from Spain. I was helped by Paul. I was with my family and Paul spoke to us and told their story. It was really cool learning about Spanish churros versus the more popular in America version that is from Mexico. These are fresh Spanish churros with different dipping sauces most notable is the hot chocolate. These are apparently not sprinkled with sugar or cinnamon traditional but focused on the sauce, but Paul made us some of both and I prefer the ones with sugar and cinnamon I mean it's sugar! LOL anyways the churros themselves are incredible, they import flour. They had other goods we ordered: actual Spanish horchata, traditional lemon cake, empanada with meat, and some filled churros. We loved everything. For those items I spent around $30 and it was well worth it. Great price, great service, tent setup outside was nice and clean and new. This has to be the best place to buy fresh and absolutely delicious churros. I was greeted by an amazing woman with a beautiful smile. She took my order and suggested to try the chocolate sauce to dip my churros in and a horchata. The gentleman cooking was very friendly and also so nice to remind me to be careful it was very hot. My cinnamon churros were made fresh and the first bite made me want more. When you dip into the chocolate the combination is oh so good. Finally!!! Churros 101 showed up at the Food Truck Frenzy at Farm/Durango in Centennial Hills a few weeks ago! I'd been looking forward to trying out Churros 101 for a few months now! We ordered 3 Churros which ended up being a lot more than we had originally though! It The order came with two different dipping sauces, chocolate sauce and a dulce de leche. The Churros were fried perfectly with a good amount of cinnamon on-top! They were fresh and super scrumptious! The chocolate sauce was more of a dark chocolate than a milk chocolate. This establishment serves perfect products each time I come here. My recent visit to this truck consisted of getting a order of their churros and a cup of cold brew coffee. The churros taste excellent plain with no sugar or cinnamon; absolutely hot and crispy while still tender and not chewy. They achieve peak flavor when dipped in the various sauces available: dulce de leche, Spanish chocolate, and strawberry. All the sauces have their own unique flavors and none are overly sweet. Equal in quality and taste to the churros is the cold brew I ordered. Its not just a regular cold brew, it is made with vegan horchata mixed in. I am not a coffee drinker or a vegan, but this was the best coffee beverage I have ever had. It made me want to drive back and order another cup as I was on my way home. The duo operating the truck were so friendly on top of their excellent customer service. This has been our favorite place to get Spanish churros in Vegas. We've tried several places in California as well and we think it's better tasting than those places as well. The dark chocolate sauce here is killer. It blows away the other places we've tried. The churros are perfectly crispy and goes great with the sauce. Not only that, the proprietors are super nice and generous every time we see them. When we saw on their instagram that they were going to the Great American Foodie Festival, we knew we had to go. We didn't know what other trucks were going to be there, we didn't care. We went just for Churros 101. I was not a fan of the flavored churros, but the regular churros itself were spectacular. The Spanish chocolate dipping sauce is great, not overly sweet and rich but a deep, earthy cacao taste. As for the churro itself, the texture was spot on with a mix of crunchy exterior and pillowy middle. The chocolate sauce was also a classic pairing.
