There is a lot to like about the Church Street Cafe (CSC). It presents really well, it has an inviting feeling and there are lots of different seating options too. We were there for mid week brunch amidst our various meetings. The food was tasty. Servings were good sizes indeed the right size. There were three of us and we had the: 1. breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs, bacon, spinach and tomato, 2. 'eggs your way' being two eggs and adding extras including great mushrooms, and 3. corn fritters. The food was a 7.5+ and the coffees were ok, a 6.5 out of 10. My one main criticism is the service is slow. We waited nearly 50 minutes from sit down to food...too long and particularly when it is mid week. Everyone is pleasant and helpful however time is not a priority which in our case meant we rushed our consumption rather than had the time to fully enjoy it. Once the slow service is addressed this joint will really hum......still a good experience and I would definitely return. read more

A lot of things impressed me about Church St. Cafe in Dubbo (or CSC as the signs say) when we dined there. But there was one element which stood out. It wasn't the cool decor, the funky layout, the great looking, pleasant and efficient staff, or the feeling of being in one of the 'hip and happening' places in town - it was the fact all the food was fresh ..... and this was on the fourth day of a four day long weekend over Christmas 2015. With my history in restaurants, I know how hard it is to have fresh food on a Sunday, let alone on a Monday of a four day long weekend. Each of us ordered something different and each of us commented how fresh the food was. CSC could easily have been lifted straight out of one of hip cafe suburbs in Sydney or Melbourne. The food did take a little longer, but even we expected this because of the large number of patrons, both inside the restaurant and outside. Also, the tables were a great size, easily fitting three a side. And the big, open windows make this place so open and non-claustrophobic. The menu was neat, concise and perfect for the weekend and the dishes were well presented. Also, there was a second element which made me love CSC even more - and that was the background music. It was there, it was 'up', it could be heard BUT it was NOT loud - yeeesssss! Earlier in the day, we had had a coffees and they were above average, although the milk might have been slightly burnt (too hot) in my flat white. I really recommend this place, especially for city folks travelling to Dubbo for whatever reason. I really hope they do well .... and other cafes in Dubbo take the time to visit, taste and experience what CSC do, because they do what they do really, really well. read more

Generous and yummy. My GF wife thought the Corn Fritters were the best she ever had. Great berry smoothie, fresh and fruity. Had the burrito brekkie wrap and was really pleased although for my liking a bit heavy on the red onion. I'd ask for no onion next time. Nice shady spot on the main mall and super friendly service. read more

This was the best meal I have had in Dubbo. Brilliant sharing plates designed perfectly that way. The fish tacos and chorizo stew were amazing. The wine list is tiny but the wines reasonable. You need to make a reservation, at least at the moment while the novelty factor still exists. The menu also appears to change to be seasonal which is unique for a country town. Overall an impressive meal in a new and chic looking building with lovely staff. The price point is perhaps above average but worth it for the food. read more

Dear Management, You run a tv commercial touting 'now serving dinner'. People visit your website stating 'dinner menu' with 'large plates'. We selected your restaurant based on the dinner menu. We called and made dinner reservations, no mention on the phone about the website dinner menu not being available. We drive several kms for the fish tacos, squid, grilled octopus and large plates. We were seated in an odd back hallway echo chamber that only had two 2-seat tables (gee, can't wait to share the chamber with the next couple to come along). We were handed a couple small plate and pizza menus. We asked for the dinner menu and we were told it's all just small plates. We informed the servers that the website menu had other offering we specifically came for. Fish cakes and pizza was not the meal we were looking for. Bad business practice. Went for sushi next door instead. read more

I am quite satisfied with my deluxe bacon and egg roll at CSC however the amount of bacon in my roll was not adequate considering they claim it to be a "deluxe" bacon and egg roll. And the amount of house relish on my bun was also on the skinny side. If it weren't for this conundrum I could have considered giving a higher star review because the service was quite exceptional and friendly. I would certainly recommend this cafe to acquaintances- the tucker was pretty damn good just need a bit more pork on their fork ;) read more
