For several years, I have watched Master Ron's team grow and learn. The following are some observations I have regarding his teams: They always look sharp in their uniforms (I never can remember what the official name is for their uniforms). I never see them use their belts as a hanger for thumbs. And, their belts are always kept tied and the uniforms are kept straightened. There's not even a hint of sloppiness. When my grandson first started doing Tae Kwon Do, I worried about injuries and the infections that can occur due to injuries in this type of sport. However, I have visited Master Ron's classes and competitions at his place of training (can't remember the name of the training mats either) and I am impressed by the clean standard that he sets. Everything from the mats to the floors, the walls, and I believe even the ceiling are absolutely clean and dust free. I never see traces of dust, dirt, broken board slivers, blood, or whatever anywhere - not even on the display pictures. Hand sanitizers - my doctor's office doesn't have as many hand sanitizers available as Master Ron - and my doctor has a lot of them. I really don't know how Master Ron can keep up to the cleanliness with that many students. (I've been wondering if he's for hire to clean my home? 　 ) His cleanliness reflects on his students. At competitions I have noticed that Master Ron's team sets a high standard and example for other competition teams. His team's uniforms are always clean and look sharp. And, his team never show the slightest disrespect for their uniforms or for other contestants or officials. I have also noticed that they always show the highest respect for the mats (or rooms) where they train and/or compete - they never forget to bow to the mat when they enter or leave the area. Their sportsmanship attitude is absolutely amazing to me. I've never seen or heard them murmur a negative word about other competitors. They always praise their fellow competitors and offer encouragement. I've even seen them give encouragement to those who have had a bad day. My grandson has shown greater respect for his parents (especially for his mother) since he has been training with Master Ron. He shows more respect for his mother than most adult men show for their mothers or wives. It is so wonderful to watch my grandson become a gentleman in every aspect of his life, and I know without a doubt that it is due to his training under Master Ron. (I'm 70 years old and I remember the long lost days of a true gentlemen's respect towards women.) Thank you, Master Ron, for all you are teaching your students - especially my grandson. You are teaching them high standards that will follow and help them throughout life. This grandmother really appreciates all that you do and your high standards. I know your students will remember you and develop more and more gratitude for what you have taught them as they travel through and gain more maturity in life. read more

My son who is now 12 has been attending Chung's for the past 6 years and is now a junior black belt (black belt candidate). I took classes for about 6 months when he first started but then I changed jobs and got too busy to continue - I only made it to green belt. Master Ron and his family that run the school are friendly and honest about their expectations. Master Ron expects everybody to hold to the tenets of Tae Kwon Do: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control, and Indomitable Spirit. During one of our first classes, Master Ron had to discipline my son for goofing off during class. He did raise his voice and got right in my son's face about it. Later, during the same class when my son got something right, Master Ron put his arm around him and told him that he was now doing a good job. He is just as quick to praise good behavior as he is to discipline for bad. Which is exactly what our son needed at the time. If you (or your child) can't handle honest criticism and hard work to become a better person and athlete, then maybe Chung's isn't for you. Chung's Tae Kwon Do Institute has moved several times over the years (we started attending class at Master Ron's house in his basement), but in their latest location they do have a CCTV system set up for parents to watch class from the waiting room/reception area. ABUSIVE, dirty, and unsafe best describe this facility and staff. They believe strongly in physical punishments and verbal putdowns. Something you will learn after you pay your money/tuition upfront...and there are no refunds! No cameras and no childcare license either! Hard lessons learned. Poor kids. :( read more

This will be the 3rd summer that my daughter has attended Chung's Summer Camp. They teach courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit.
