They don't just sell fast food, they sell quality fast food - now there aren't many places you can find that. As well as the usual fish and chips, they have a wide range of Chinese meals, pizza's, kebabs and burgers to take away therefore you are often spoilt for choice especially since they have meal deals too. Home deliveries are also welcome for local areas with an additional £1 charge. They are open 7 days from 4.30pm till late so it is a great place to find some food after a hard day or long night out. The service is excellent and staff are efficient. Food is always hot and still warm when you arrive home. There is not much I can fault. The Famous Blue Star serves some of the best fast food in Liverpool.

The chippy has had a recent makeover - everything looks smart, menu-boards, staff-uniforms etc…read more I've used the chippy for many years and always received pretty good value for money with very good customer service. Just brought a "Mixed Meat Chow Mein". It was well prepared, presented and very tasty, in-line with the chippy's regular supply. The ratio of meat / noodle & veg. however was disproportionate (not enough meat!!). I would have preferred to pay £4.80, rather than £5.90 with this consideration in mind. Hopefully, honest regular customer feedback might help management reassess this particular dish with regard to the ingredient's proportions. I do recommend this chippy to friends, but feel I have to include my own experiences which I believe qualify the recommendation.

Thankfully, there is nothing wrong with this lovely little chippy situated at the end of my road. Indeed, I'd say that considering how you can get two massive meals from here for the price of a fiver, pretty much everything about it is right. Whenever I come here, I'm always sure to get a Cheese and Onion pie with chips, mushy peas and lashings of gravy. It's always cooked fresh to order, and you really do get value for money - a single portion of chips from here could very easily feed two people! However, their speciality dish is almost certainly their salt and pepper chips - which are pieces of potato stir fried in an exceedingly tasty spicy salt and pepper seasoning. They're delicious, and at only £1.20 for a large portion, great value too. I've not yet tried any of the chinese food from the New Rong, but if it's anything as nice as their more traditional fare then when I do, I'm sure I'm in for a treat.

My first thought on my first visit to the College Fryer in Crosby was 'I hope their name is related…read moreto their location and not to the competence of the staff there'. The last thing anybody wants us some greasy, grumpy youth battering your fish and salting your chips (not that it's a particularly refined art, but still). Thankfully, the former is the case at the College Fryer as the staff there are all friendly, attentive and more than capable of cooking your fish and chips to perfection. As you might imagine, College Fryer offers the usual selection of chippy favourites for its customers to pick from, all available at fairly cheap prices. Their chips are pretty good and their fish is tasty, even if their batter to fish ratio hasn't quite been perfected. There's not a shortage of chippies down College Road, or Crosby in general, but if you're in the area you could do a lot worse than College Fryer.
