This is a great place. Loads of seating, good pizza and cold beer. Lots of parking for cara and boats. We were here while they had a song festival where loads of song writers came from Nashville to perform original works. Pretty awesome vibe. Not sure what to recommend as its our first visit. I have mixed reviews for Chucks. The first time we went a month ago, everything was fabulous! The veggie pizza and the Chimney Rock pizzas were AMAZING! Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly! The deck has a nice view and overall was a good experience. We ordered take out last weekend and had a different experience. The cheesey bread and Goat Island pizza were hard as a rock. If you want basic pizza, and i do mean BASIC thin-crust pizza, then this spot may be OK for you. The pizzas are lacking in tomato sauce and overall flavor. If you've ever eaten at a Cici's, then you had much better fare than here. I believe that people MAY rate it higher than it deserves as it's one of the ONLY pizza spots in the area. This place has a great family vibe on the water. We ordered a pizza and received a buzzer. The food came rather quickly. Plenty of seating on the water and also a roof top view of the lake is available as well. Plenty of beer options and wine. We ordered a medium pizza and it was a perfect amount of slices for two people. Our pizza was loaded with meat and I really enjoyed the thin crust. Chuck's Marina is a cool place that is, I realize obviously, on the lake. You can drive up in your car or in your boat. There is a store right on the water. You can also go upstairs where there is a wine shop, a beer bar, and a window to order pizza, sandwiches and salads. It is a HUGE place. The open bar has seating as well as two levels of patio. There was live music on this particular Sunday afternoon, and the crowd was lots of fun - dancing and singing along. Our party had 3 large pizzas, salads, beers and Mac and Cheese bites. I had a bite of the Chimney Rock ($26 for L), which was a crisp crust topped with tomato sauce, pepperoni, sausage, ground beef, Canadian and regular bacon, black and green olives, green bell peppers, mushrooms and onions. It was delicious! Impressively crisp crust under an inch of toppings. The Lake Lovers Meat Supreme was the same pizza (for the same price) but without the vegetables. Because it had no vegetables, it was only half an inch thick, but it still had that great crisp crust and was not dripping in grease. My favorite was the Chuckwalla Special, which had spinach, sundried tomato, feta, onion and mushrooms. It had a sweet and meaty flavor, and it was only enhanced with a little crushed red pepper flake. Delish! I didn't have any of the Mac and Cheese bites, but I did eat a lot of the Chuckwalla House Salad ($6). It was basic but delicious with chopped romaine, grape tomatoes and shaved red onion that we tossed in a housemade feta dressing with oil, vinegar and herbs. It was crunchy and refreshing. M and I also shared a Judge Roy Bean Coffee Stout ($4 for a bottle), which was a delicious and toasty coffee stout. On Sunday, Chuck's shuts down at 7PM, so it was not long before the music was off and people were leaving for the evening (I hope that some people were going to sleep in their cars for a bit!). Nearly left multiple times before we even got our food because waiters weren't even tending to us, and the owner was so rude to us when we asked about the time it would take for a table(a "Karen" as the kids call it). An amazing pizza place with a homey environment. You can go up on the boat or in your car. If you come on your boat there is also a gas pump to fill it up. They expanded it last year so now there is more seating space which is great because that used to be the only drawback. 10/10 recommend the chimney rock pizza, it is absolutely amazinggg and they cook it very well. Staff is arrogant and completely irrational. Awful customer service. I am a type one diabetic and was told to put my water bottle away with juice in it because it wasn't allowed. I tried to calmly explain to her that I am diabetic and my blood sugar is low and i NEED the juice. She wouldn't slow down and stop talking to understand what I was saying and continue to talk over me. As a diabetic, this happens. people don't understand. I let it roll off my back. I was enjoying my food until another staff member approached us and it without saying anything started to put the umbrella down at our table over all of our heads all of our food without warning. keep in mind it's 3 PM in the middle of the day we were all hot from the boat all day and needed the shade. We asked to keep it up until we finished our meal and she completely ignored us and said they all are coming down now. Ok lady! we tried to continue to enjoy our lunch but the big collapsed umbrella was in the middle of our table and we couldn't see each-other. My son removed the umbrella from the middle of the table and gently leaned it up in a corner close by where there were other collapsed umbrellas. a third time, a staff member rudely approached us and said "we don't remove the umbrellas from the tables here, but thanks anyways i guess." wow! 0/10 experience. don't recommend this place. read more

The fact that you are not the only one who has been trying to get rid of the problem, you are not the only one who can help. Beware of the heavyset, white male working behind the bar. He's extremely arrogant, disrespectful, and immediately approached our party regarding empty alcohol cans we had carried in to throw in the trash as if we were sneaking alcohol into the establishment. The way that he approached us, threatening a $1000 fine and literally snatching a can out of my wife's hand. After expressing my dissatisfaction with the way he approached our party he continue to argue eventually stating that it's over 100° and he's been frustrated and that he apologizes for his actions. But only after we continued to help him understand the extreme disrespect that he had on my wife and the rest of our party. We were so surprised in the way that he acted we couldn't sit down and eat or drink and left. We will not return due to this experience and we will continue to share our experience of this individual every chance we get. Totally unacceptable. We eat at chucks at lot. The pizza is great! And I mean it is GREAT. I would have given them 5 stars if not for the horrible draft beer. I watch enough Bar Rescue to know that beer that is always completely flat means one of three things. Either the person pouring it doesn't know how to pour beer, the glasses are not "beer clean" or the lines are dirty. Since it doesn't matter who makes the beer it's always flat and they use plastic cups my guess is since the taps go unused so much the lines must be horrible. I won't drink draft there! One beer makes me feel so full I can't stand it. I saw John Taffer do this thing once with napkins and flat beer to illustrate what happens to it in your stomach, it basically blow you up with gas like a giant ballon. read more

The pizza at Chuck's is pretty good. However, Chuck's also provides a couple of things that can't really be found elsewhere on Lake Martin. It is the only place that I am aware of on Lake Martin where you can get a draft beer. Since there are some extremely hot days on the Lake in the summer, it is nice to be able to find an ice cold draft beer. Also, the live music at Chuck's is not the only place to hear live music on the Lake, but it frequently has the best talent. All in all, this is a great place to spend a weekend night at the Lake.
