I was happy with my professional headshot session from beginning to end. I completed their online…read moreform and received an email response promptly. They asked about my availability and recommended a gray background unless I had something else in mind. I scheduled my appointment for a morning session at their studio, which has its own small parking lot. My session was 40 minutes, including time afterward to select the pose I wanted. I appreciated the dressing room to fix my makeup and hair before the session. They had some hairspray, tissues, and hand lotion in the room. My photographer, Trevor, was friendly and professional and made me feel comfortable in front of the camera. He gave me great directions and helped me select the best pose. During COVID, he and other staff had masks on. The total cost was $150. I will receive a high-resolution image for printing and a low-resolution image for screens/internet by email. I can't wait! I've never had a professional headshot taken and I wish I'd done it sooner. I would not hesitate to consider this studio if you want a professional experience and product.

We just found out that our Corgi has lymphoma. Before he passes, we wanted to get some nice family…read morephotos to remember him by. We paid a family friend to take photos and I am truly sad that I actually paid for those. So I asked around for a professional photographer with a studio, as our youngest pup isn't fully vaccinated, and that was good with pets. Based off recommendations from friends, I emailed four photographers in the area and Tourine from Johnstone Studios was one of the first to respond in a timely manner. Due to the time constant, we didn't do the complimentary consultation, but just made an appointment for the photos on a Sunday afternoon of that week. She did ask what breeds of dogs they were, to make sure she'd have the correct background color ready. We showed up 15 minutes early and she met us at the door. Tourine was warm and welcoming to both us and the pups. Johnstone Studios is beautifully set up, both welcoming and professionally decorated.We went upstairs to a studio with hard wood floors and she went to work. She was extremely kind to the pups and knew how to keep their attention. Tourine had a great energy and the dogs fed off of that. I could tell that Tourine has experience with working with dogs, as she waved treats, talked to them, jumped around and used a train whistle to see what they responded to best. Our Crogi is a ham and loves to take pictures, but our new golden doodle has no concept of what's going on, so getting him to look in the right direction was taxing. After she was done, she checked with us to see if we had time to view the photos in their viewing room, or if we needed to go home for the dogs. They were both doing well, so we stayed to view our photos. Not only did she get a few beautiful pictures of our ailing Corgi, but pictures of the dogs together and one of the four of us. Everyone was looking, beautifully positioned and I will treasure these photos for years to come! Down stairs in their viewing room, we went through the photos on a big screen tv. We picked a package that gave us three of the photos we choose retouched and the digital rights for a very competitive price. My husband also ordered an Urban picture collage of our three pictures. Tourine was extremely low pressure when it came to selling additional add ons and even offered to leave the room so we could talk our choices over. Our digital prints came over retouched in three days and the photo collage we ordered should be here within a month or so. I am so happy with our family photos! Tourine did a great job and Johnstone Studios will be our new place for yearly family photos!

Clarissa is a truly exceptional videographer. The resulting video from her footage blew me out of…read morethe water. An artist of her caliber is extremely rare in the world of wedding videos, and the finished product speaks louder than words (which you can view along with her other work on her website). Not only was the video everything I wanted and more, Clarissa has an amazing knack of catching the most beautiful moments, while at the same time being completely unobtrusive. I never once noticed that she was filming during the ceremony. Also, she was able to suggest the ideal times to pull us away from the festivities to get any supplemental shots. I would recommend in a heartbeat.

Due to covid we had to change locations from Charleston to Big Sur California and Clarissa was so excited to make the journey. She came to the location a few days early and scouted out some really amazing and secret places that were stunning. We filmed in quite a few places and she also brought her drone along and we weren't quite sure what we were in for but we trusted Clarissa and her artistic vision and wow! We were literally blown away and moved to tears at some points and laughing at others. I don't know much about video and sound editing but it was so professionally put together and the different shots and blend of background sounds from the ceremony ( people cheering/laughing) with an amazing and personal music selection was just so cool - it was literally like a movie or something to that level. We showed our family and my uncle had to walk away at one point so he wouldn't cry. Not only would I give the final product 6 stars I would also give Clarissa 6 stars as a human being! So when my husband and I got engaged she was the first vendor I contacted and I've been referring to her as my wedding fairy godmother ever since! She not only got to know us both intimately over a year, learning our style and then executing with complete perfection on our wedding day- but she also helped in so many other aspects and questions regarding our wedding- all above and beyond what would be expected of a wedding photographer! For example, we did not want a first look and needed to be cognizant of getting our photos done before sunset. I emailed Taylor looking for advice on the ceremony start time and she was phenomenal in explaining what I should put on the invitation and the realistic timeline that went with it. I loved her dearly before we even got to our wedding day, but on that day she still managed to blow us away! In getting ready I felt like I had just another close friend in the room. She was calm, patient organized, and I didn't have to think about a thing. She thought to capture so many unique moments I hadn't even thought to request. We had 45 mins to take shots after our ceremony and Taylor was able to get twice the shots I thought she could and yet I never felt rushed or frantic. Taylor fit in seamlessly to the party and I didn't even realize we were still taking photos at moments. Once we said goodbye for the evening close to the end of dancing, I noticed Taylor didn't yet leave, taking even more photos as people got particularly into a few songs. The few shots we have received thus far have far exceeded my husband and I's expectations and we know we will cherish both our relationship with Taylor and her phenomenal photos for years to come! She was able to make a beautiful background out of settings that I was quick to dismiss as uninteresting initially. Being a guy, I really can't stand posed pictures and, for the engagement session we were doing, I thought that poses would take away from the natural feel of the pictures. I was very happy that Chelsea shared this opinion and was very focused on making the shots appear candid. She asked that my fiancé and I just relax and interact with one another while she took photos. It sounds simple, but in my opinion it can make for some very powerful pictures. At the time I'm writing this, I've only seen a few of our shots from the session. Based on those samples and just by the excitement and enthusiasm Chelsea demonstrated throughout the session, I know that the rest are going to be great and I have no hesitations in giving her a 5-star rating. Captured by Kate is amazing! This is the second time my family used Kate (the first time was for my…read moresister's wedding) and she is so talented. Looking at the photos she captured throughout the weekend takes us right back to the joy and happiness because she was able to capture such real and genuine moments. Some of my absolute favorite moments were of our first look, which she captured absolutely beautifully. This was the first time we had professional photos taken of the baby and were of course a tad apprehensive about how it all would go, especially due to the fact that he had a terrible nap day the day of the shoot (of course!). Things could not have gone smoother - Kate has 3 children herself so was just wonderful at getting him to smile and holding his attention. She was so creative with finding good spots for pictures (our shoot took place at White Point gardens and the streets surrounding them), and we found her to be warm, pleasant, and very fun to work with. We felt relaxed and comfortable the whole time - it was really an enjoyable evening! The pictures themselves are breathtaking - I teared up when I opened them, and there are a few that still make me misty whenever I look at them! His laid back personality fit well with our beach wedding and intimate/ romantic reception setting. Rick made sure to capture the night and focus on what was important to the bride. He overheard that the bride was disappointed her grandmother could not attend the reception and when he saw the brides mother face timing with her he captured the perfect picture!
