The job gets done, but you kind of feel like a second class citizen. I've literally been asked to vacate a chair during a scheduled "couples massage" at one area salon. Hammer & Nails sets the tone, the moment you walk in. Greeted at the door and immediately offered to hang my jacket. Quick to inform they are membership based so there's no confusion. Clean contemporary barbershop/salon area that leads to a lounge with a bar or the "man cave" - a dark, moody room where they offer treatments like the pedicure I had scheduled. There's also a cigar room and a large patio with poker table. TVs come with remote so you can change to whatever you'd like. Headsets available, as well. The pedicure was 4/5. I was a big fan of the paraffin wax. My feet spend a lot of time in work boots, so they appreciate the relaxing massage and warm dip that follows. I don't cut my toenails flat across, prefer rounded. Tia was very personable and friendly, wish she'd have asked how I preferred they be trimmed. But that's my only complaint. The two services membership is very fairly priced and I will sign up for it a few months out of the year. Fellas - check this place out!

Haircut is always as requested, and I really appreciate that Klay takes his time to make sure everything is done well. Also was super nice when Klay remembered me after coming here several times, and remembered the exact cut that I get! There usually is a bit of a wait during peak times (the wait is still absolutely worth it), but the atmosphere is great, and there is usually a movie playing in the background to help pass the time. The price is very reasonable, and it's really nice to be able to fully trust your barber with your hair. Hands down the best barber I've ever been to.

Still, Mickey was kind and gave me a first first-class gentleman's haircut, relying mostly on scissors and less on the clippers. The waiting room, consisting of old wooden chairs, is populated by respectable older gentlemen of Hudson. All in all, exactly the sort of thing that a man wants when he needs to get his hair cut!
