Bought a Generac automatic generator at Costco for the Michigan compound. Was able to get a great…read moreprice (floor model) and had an independent electrician do the install. There were problems and I gave Ziller, the #1 generator supplier, a call for some warranty work. Although I knew the problem was with the unit not the installation (checked, double and triple checked everything) they still ask for a credit card number and let you know it is going to cost $$ if it is not a warranty issue. All-in-all Ziller made three trips to the compound and replaced the battery charger and two controller units - TOTAL COST ZERO. They also made recommendations on some customized electrical work to protect the perimeter. The Ziller team is solid with a great web and local presence - true experts. To be honest the standard Ziller rates are a bit high (but consistent with other Generac authorized firms) vs. independents. They also may try to sell the maintenance plans (as instructed, I am guessing, from HQ)... but it is a soft sell. The Ziller team are real experts in this space and they deliver significant value. I'd contact them for generator sales, installation and service. You may be able to get the work done cheaper but it will likely take longer and you will not have the confidence in the work that Ziller can provide (they do this type of work every day vs. 1 or 2 installations a year or 5) Back to the bunker.

I called Cal Prime only because my plumber, John Wesolok, recommended him. John said Cal was a good…read moreguy and wouldn't rake me over the coals. He was so wrong!! I had Wesolok Plumbing install a new water tank in April 2023. My water pressure previously was at 60 and 40. After the new tank was installed the pressure was at 40 and 20. I called Wesolok Plumbing back after the installation for 4 months to get them back out to fix the water pressure. Finally, mid August they came back out, but couldn't fix the problem. They told me that there could be a problem with the well, and highly recommended Cal Prime. So I called Cal. He said he was working drilling wells in the thumb area and he could only make out here on the weekend. I had no idea where he was from, John Wesolok said he was from Bay City area. So, Cal shows up on Sunday. He checks the well. There's no problem there other than it's a low producing well, which it has been since 1996. He then wants to see the water tank. After a few minutes of checking it out he begins to let the air out of the tank then adjusts the screws for the off and on pressure. All the while telling me how he has fixed the pressure in hundreds of tanks that Wesolok Plumbing installed because they don't change it. The air pressure is preset he said. My thought was, preset to what and does that mean every house has the same pressure? I had asked him what it would cost for him to come out and check the well. He couldn't give me a price, understandably, because he didn't know what was wrong. BUT WHEN HE KNEW IT WAS THE AIR PRESSURE IN THE TANK HE SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME TO CALL WESOLOK PLUMBING BECAUSE IT WOULD BE UNDER WARRANTY! So the water pressure is back to what it was previously to the new tank installation. But, Cal charged me $400. to do it! I called John Wesolok and told him what happened and how much Cal charged me. His exact words were "Holy $hit"! He said he would call Cal and talk to him. Ten minutes later I get a phone call from Cal, and he says, "why do you want to ruin a good thing?" He then tells me that someone in my house probably put air in the water tank! I'm the only one living in my house. So I called John Wesolok back and he said he wasn't going to reimburse me for even half! After I told him that Cal said someone put air in the tank, he told me it was probably a defective tank! Thank you for NOTHING BUT BAD SERVICE!!! SCAMMERS!!!

Caleb came to our home, looked over the project of replacing our old furnace and a/c. He assessed the project, explained our options, answered all of our questions and provided us with a detailed quote. Equipment was ordered and they were able to work us into their schedule in about a week; (over a week ahead of the initial date which was 3 weeks out)! This was wonderful as the weather had turned cold and our old furnace was barely working. Two guys showed up at 8:30 am and got right to work and a little later 3 others came to work also! By 4:30 they had removed the old furnace and a/c and completely installed the new furnace and a/c and had it all up and running! They were very professional, friendly, knowledgeable and thoughtful, going above and beyond the required amount of work necessary. Also, they picked up as they worked and completely cleaned the worksite both indoors and outside afterwards. We went over the home, foundation, electrical, water, roofing, walls, plumbing, on and on and on. If you choose someone other than this company, you will never know what you missed out on.
