He gave my son ZERO prep for a nose swab and then very aggressively shoved it up his nose, making my son cry and thrash in reaction. He then used a tongue depressor very forcibly and without warning to do a swab of his throat so aggressively that my son immediately threw up in reaction to it. My son is three years old, and while I understand medical tests can be difficult for them, if the doctor had given me ANY CHANCE to prepare my son for what was about to happen, this could have gone differently. My son was crying, asking what was happening to him, and said he didn't want anyone to touch him anymore. This is not how a three-year-old should feel after a doctor's visit. This type of experience is what makes children scared of Drs. and is completely unnecessary. I will say, outside of this experience, we have loved this practice--especially my son's two primary care providers (although they have both left the practice at this point--sadly). There are so many wonderful doctors and nurses here, but this experience with Dr Weidmen was SO BAD that I had to let other parents know that he should be avoided if possible.

Didn't ask 1 question about my kids (who are new patients) but asked "What's your concerns or issue with Vaccines" (because the nurse asked earlier if I was getting vaccines today and I said no) so I told him I just wanted to do more research with them before giving my daughter more. And he goes and on about how I need to get them and they are a must with kids and I am putting my kids In danger if I don't. This man was pretty much arguing with me because I asked for a list of vaccines my daughter was missing and he wouldn't provide it to me he said hename them off the top of his head. Smh. I've been to other pediatricians in California & Also in New Jersey and no one has ever been so unprofessional & Pushy. Dr. Stafford is so much more than an amazing pediatrician. She is warm, compassionate, patient, incredibly knowledgeable, and truly cares about the children and families she serves. She has always made us feel heard, reassured, and cared for, and we have trusted her completely with our son's care from day one. One of our favorite memories happened in her office when our son lost his very first tooth. Dr. Stafford announced his first lost tooth to the whole office, and everyone cheered! He even got an extra toy to celebrate. His smile was from ear to ear--he was absolutely beaming with pride. It's a small moment, but one we'll always remember because it captures the warmth and joy Dr. Stafford brings to her practice.
