Okay, the Christian symbols everywhere are a bit much, because heathens like me and Muslims and Jews and Buddhists and Hindus all love their animals, too, but it's Lockport, and I suppose that iconography speaks most to the local crowd. This is my only (small) complaint about an otherwise wonderful experience that helped bring us some closure during the very difficult time that was losing our sweet dachshund mutt baby, Puck. The service rep that we dealt with was gracious to us from beginning to end: flexible with by-appointment-only scheduling because of COVID concerns, patient with our questions, and (don't tell the boss) threw in several services for which they normally charge (e.g. walking back to the crematorium itself with the body) for free. She was also kind enough to let us send Pucky off to Puppy Valhalla with his favorite hump zebra, even though it apparently makes a mess in the chamber that she has to clean up later. The experience can be customized, and is really quite nice: you get to lay your pet on a pillow and take some last photos before having some fur shaved away and placed in a container and a pawprint taken in clay to keep as a remembrance. We opted for the "private" cremation, in which your pet is the only one in the chamber. The remains are burned in separate containers and the ashes kept separate even if you don't choose this option, but Pucky never did much like being around other dogs, so the private option seemed fitting. You can retrieve your pet's ashes the following day in a bag inside a lovely wooden box along with the partially dried paw cast, before sobbing for a while in the car and then driving home in a daze. Losing a pet sucks, and it especially sucks if you're weird DINKS who treat them as your children. Services that make it suck less, especially when administered competently and compassionately, are a beacon in hard waters. Goodbye, sweet boy, and thank you, Pets in Peaceful Rest.

Their compassion is a testament to the impact kindness can have during difficult times, and I wholeheartedly recommend Pets at Peace to anyone facing end-of-life decisions for their beloved pets.

I had reviewed options on their website so I asked for what I thought was best and they trusted that I knew me best. They have a little area to sit with your pet. They attach a little metal ID tag that stays with your pet, I asked if I could be present when they attached it and they were very accommodating. Overall very respectful staff, I do wish the environment was a little cleaner and maybe brighter? I know we're grieving but it felt dark and dingy and kind of dirty. They have a little soft bed area where you could lay your pet and say final goodbyes but there was fur on the blanket and just gave vibes that many animals had been laid there. I would have really appreciated it if it felt cleaner. Like can we change out the towel with each person? I can't imagine that's asking too much? They did have the best prices that I found when looking online if you want to receive the ashes back. Lollipop had the best price if you were leaning towards a group cremation and not receiving ashes back. Their price includes an ink paw print and they put the ashes in a little wooden box. I would definitely consider them again if I was in need of this service in the future.

Had to have her put down just this morning, but my brother and I have been driving back and forth at least twice a week for the last three weeks to get her care. They were *always* able to accommodate her immediately and *always* able to provide the best care possible, given the circumstances. I could not have gotten this level of emergent care from any vet hospital in my home city (believe me, I tried). To doctors Wajda, Kwiatkowski, and Carbone, as well as the many receptionists, desk staff, and techs who helped us from our first visit until the end of her life: thank you. Thank you for allowing us to give Ophelia the best quality of life possible for the short time she had left, and thank you for all the tissues (though you may want to spring for 2-ply in the future).

Dr. krolczyk came in to discuss the plan of care. She was very kind, professional, and patient with us as she answered our numerous questions. They were very upfront about the cost which I think is important. Of course it was pricey, but what emergency vet isn't. I felt they were very kind and caring to both my cat and my family throughout the experience. My cat had to have surgery and was there for a few days and they were so good about calling and giving me updates. I would definitely come back here.
