However, we had more issues had I known I would have had someone else do the work. Biggest issues: 1-they accepted a verbal yes, never ever sent over a quote in writing. I had to demand one. 2- communication is the absolute worst, after the quote we never heard from them again until we came home to a pile of gravel left in our front yard. We had to call them to see if they left the gravel. 3- never verified when they would be there to do the work. 4-the owner Jim is worse then a car sales person trying to keep the job. 5- they have no care about your property, they broke our sidewalk, they bent my gate latch and left it. Again no communication about those items. 6-Clean up is horrible, we had leaked oil left all along our street, we ended up spending our evening cleaning up after them.

His bid was fair and the most reasonable of the three companies I solicited. He charged exactly what he bid, communicated well about when he was coming (seems well-organized), is reliable, hard-working, experienced, and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond what we hired him to do, as I was tasked with digging a 14' x 18" trench to bury the electrical conduit for the stub up to the hot tub before the slab could be poured, and Juan simply helped me dig it (he had much better tools for the job). I think Juan's willingness to work hard for the success of his jobs and help with something additional like this is rare and valuable. When the job was complete, Juan thoroughly cleaned up all remnants of gravel, etc... on the road, in the carport, and in the backyard. 1 STAR -- I DO NOT RECOMMEND BEJAR CONCRETE DESIGN…read more We paid Bejar Concrete Design more than $130,000 to build a three-tier retaining wall system and concrete steps. Less than one year later, all three wall tiers have numerous cracks, the largest wall appears to be bowing, and one crack is approximately 3/4 inch wide. An engineer evaluated the wall and advised that it presents a serious safety concern. The concrete steps are also cracking and peeling. We have repeatedly tried to get Bejar to address these issues through BlackPine Landscaping, the landscaping company involved in the project. BlackPine has been honest, communicative and has continued trying to help us resolve the situation. Unfortunately, Bejar has not shown up to correct the problems, and our attempts to reach them have gone unanswered. Our experience does not appear to be isolated. A neighbor's driveway, installed by Bejar less than a year ago, is already cracking and peeling in numerous places. Another neighbor's concrete steps are also beginning to show similar problems. Bejar features our project on its website, but has failed to stand behind the work. I have photos and documentation of the damage and will continue documenting its progression. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Bejar Concrete Design for concrete or retaining-wall work. A $130,000+ project should not develop serious cracking, peeling and apparent movement within its first year, especially when an engineer has identified a safety concern
