I very much appreciate my entire experience with this State Farm location, what I consider the…read more'insurance for adults.' In my younger days, I cared absolutely nothing about personable service, having a real agent representing me, etc. all I cared about was having the cheapest insurance possible. Now that I'm fully adulting, if you mention 'tax', 'retirement' or 'insurance', my eyes will instantly glaze over and I am absolutely stupid. I don't want to hear about these incredibly important, incredibly unavoidable, incredibly boring topics. I want others more capable than myself in these areas to fend for me! That's how I adult. So it's very nice to have my interests represented by "my insurance agent" (doesn't that sound fancy and adult???). His name is Henry Hansberger, and if I have a question ("HENRY! Why wasn't my insurance automatically debited exactly on the 15th of this month?! The 15th fell on a holiday weekend?! Oh, gotcha"), a claim or a gripe, he is always a call or promptly responsive email away. It's great! It's WONDERFUL having someone there and not having to log online and be another claim number or being on hold for 20 minutes due to "experiencing an unusually high call volume". Uh and just to be clear, Henry works for Al Rodriguez who is also an agent. Or something like that. Insurance isn't clear to me, ever. Magically, in a world of esurance companies and cute but annoying gecko mascots, I originally picked State Farm because they were cheaper than other auto insurance companies that DON'T provide, gratis, the benefit of a real human agent within my city limits. I switched from Travelers because State Farm was $34/month cheaper (and yes, $34 a month matters to me, that adds up to over $400 per annum that I could apply to something much more fabulous than auto insurance, blah). I did a quote estimate on Geico and they were a little cheaper than State Farm, but not worth switching and losing the personable service of SF. So then Geico inundated me with emails whereby they promised to offer me lower rates if I would reconsider them - which honestly irritated me. I'm not haggling over eggs or a carpet at a bazaar, this is a HUGE insurance corporation and you're already saying that you were initially willing to overcharge me. So no trust there, lizard-breath. I recently was involved in a minor accident where I was not at-fault. But I just didn't WANT to deal with it. So I emailed Henry bright and early the very next AM, blathered to him on the phone about it, and he took care of it within the next couple hours so that the other party's insurance company was calling me and I barely had to contribute any effort. Because that's how I adult. Henry also looked at my current insurance policy and told me there were several options that I should change. I appreciated his suggestions because I wouldn't have thought about them. Henry also said it would increase my monthly bill by about $16, and lo and behold I got my little monthly reminder of my upcoming ACH withdrawal and it was an additional $16 (this location is FANATICAL about sending you notices on any change to your policy, which is a very good and through thing). So there you go. My auto and home insurance is grown up and so am I.

If it was possible to give 0 stars, I would. I've been with…read moreState Farm for 16 years now and I LOVE the company. I worked in collision repair, so I know how they are to work with on that end as well, and I just can't say enough good things about the company as a whole. This agent and his assistant Fred on the other hand, I really cannot say anything positive. My entire experience with them is a very long story, but to make it short, I moved to Wisconsin and wanted to transfer my policy from Ohio to a Wisconsin agent. Fred gave my new agent a hard time about transferring my policy, but eventually did so after multiple calls. The problem is, he never stopped billing me for my Ohio policy, even though it was no longer active. After I called him multiple times over 2 months, and my new agent called him multiple times, corporate State Farm also called him to fix the situation, but to no avail. Fred was also inappropriate with corporate and that customer service rep filed a complaint against him on my behalf, and also one for herself. I had no choice but to file a formal complaint with the Ohio Department of Insurance, since they were billing me for a policy that no longer existed, and they would not fix it themselves because Fred kept telling me I was not getting bills (but I was and had them in my hand). Fred would never allow me to speak with Al Rodriguez, the actual agent, and he continued to tell me how many years he worked for State Farm, that he never makes mistakes, and it was the fault of my new agent. He even left me a minute + long voicemail about how my new agent has no idea what he is doing and that I should find someone else... He also berated the women who work at my new agent's office. I could go on and on about the extremely unprofessional things Fred said to during those 2 months, but you get the point. It was not until I filed a formal complaint that the agent called me to try to resolve things. To make matters worse, the agent would only return my fiance's calls, not mine, for a few days. I'm not sure what they have against women, but my finance's name was not anywhere on my policy, so I have no idea why he called him and not me. Anyway, fixing their mess took hours (HOURS!) of my life, took 2 months, and a formal complaint. I absolutely do not recommend this agent.
