From start to finish, my experience exceeded expectations. Check-in was immediate and friendly, and the wait time was minimal. While I've seen some reviews mention a lack of eye contact or focus on the computer, my experience was the complete opposite. Dr. Yao spent an enormous amount of time getting to know my medical history, asking thoughtful questions--more than any physician I've seen before--and carefully documenting everything so it's accessible for other providers. She couldn't have been more knowledgeable, personable, or caring. Together, we created an actionable plan to optimize my health, and she immediately provided referrals to additional specialists to put that plan into motion. To be honest, I'm so glad to have made the switch. Firstly, they're all welcoming and seem like a pretty happy bunch. Just in that initial appointment with Dr. Kazi, I had concerns about my health physically and mentally and she addressed both and laid out a plan to assess me for abit, then go from there. Which was perfectly understandable. I walked away feeling heard and not dismissed. She really took into consideration how I felt and what I was going through with my previous Dr. and I appreciated so much. My following check-up, is when the plan became action. From that point it's been an upward motion. I feel like my well being has greatly improved. I also feel a sense of security with Dr. Kazi, where as before I had long given up on voicing my health concerns. I truly am thankful for Dr. Kazi and her team. As a new patient, I waited six months just to get an appointment--which should have been my first warning. The La Quinta office told me I had to complete intake forms before they could schedule me. I did everything they asked, and they said they would call me back. They never did. No follow-up, no accountability. I then tried the Palm Desert office. Things seemed fine at first, but that quickly changed. They canceled my appointment with the doctor and pushed me to see a PA instead. I reluctantly agreed. On the day of the appointment, I had to call them myself because I never received any confirmation--no email, no text, nothing. When I called, the receptionist asked if I could come in earlier at 2:45. I told her I couldn't and specifically asked if 3:30 would still work or if I needed to reschedule. She clearly confirmed that 3:30 was fine. I showed up early at 3:15, only to be told the PA had already left. Instead of taking responsibility, they falsely claimed they had called me and that I said I would arrive at 3:00--which is completely untrue. At that point, it was clear they were more interested in covering their mistake than helping a patient. To make matters worse, I tried to resolve this with the office manager. She put me on hold for over 30 minutes because she was "on the phone with the pharmacy." Since when is the office manager handling pharmacy calls? I thought that was the responsibility of the nursing staff. It felt like yet another excuse and a complete waste of my time. This office is not just disorganized--it's dishonest. They waste your time, fail to communicate, and then blame you for their own failures. If this is how the practice is run, it reflects very poorly on the doctor. Patients deserve far better than this level of incompetence, lack of accountability, and disregard for their time.
