Well this is something I didn't know until today. Apparently the Christmas Shop is open all year 'round! Hurrah! That's rather lovely, isn't it? And you know what? It really does feel like Christmas in here.
I have a habit of buying baubles when I go away in winter. I want my Christmas tree to have decorations from all over the place, and in ten years, I'll have a nice little collection. Maybe even a real tree. The decorations in here actually vary from quite pretty to WONDERFULLY tacky. But, I found one I liked, paid for it (eventually) and went on my way. It's a good selection, I imagine it's empty in here in July. Strange.
Why they need three staff to do one transaction, for one bauble, I don't know. It's pretty disorganised. But, it was a fun little find, made us feel festive and then we went on our way. It's like a little bit of Christmas in the countryside. You'd have to be Scrooge not to be taken with it.
That said, any other time of the year, when it's not snowing, it would get a firm three stars. read more
