I have driven by this place a million times and had NO IDEA they had a little coffee/lunch counter inside until a recent Yelp search alerted me to the fact?! My husband and I had a very nice lunch here, I loved my grilled cheese and soup, plus picked up some day old peanut butter chocolate chip cookies (YUM) and some nice lattes to fortify ourselves before a Target shopping run. This was an unexpectedly cute find with specialty food items and local goodies. I bought a B.E.A.R. (blackberry, elderberry, apple, red raspberry) jam and a package of wild rice to bring home. There's also a neat cafe with soups, sandwiches, wraps, salads, and a variety of coffee and tea offerings. I was excited to try the namesake wild rice soup. It was pretty bland but was pepped up with the addition of the very salty croutons. The turkey apple brie panini was on the sweeter side with a nice melding of flavors. Based on the name of the store I was expecting a store full of tacky christmas decorations however instead I found a huge selection of cabin/lake home decor, unique furniture, unique kitchen supplies/gifts, and a charming cafe. This is the cutest and yummiest shop in Brainerd. The cafe' is cute and serves up some of the best coffee drinks and desserts in the area. It can be packed to limit with aging, lunching ladies on the weekend, though so beware. Do like we do, get your coffee/hot cocoa to go and have fun browsing all three level of the store. Such an enjoyable time eating here today. All the food was just what we wanted. I got there famous chicken salad sandwich with chips. The croissant was so nice and fluffy, like it was fresh that day! The sandwich was filled so much, that I used there housemade chips to scoop some of the filling and that made for a wonderful taste and texture that complimented eachother wonderfully! I highly recommend this place, but expect to pay a bit more then a normal lunch. read more

I have been a fan of Christmas Point ever since it existed in the Westgate Mall. Since it's move to where it currently is in Baxter it has only gotten better (and much bigger)! There are three floors filled with everything from large furniture items to kitchen gadgets and food to "up north" and trendy clothing and shoes. The main floor is my personal favorite with more of the décor and gifty things and the fabulous café. I have eaten there many times for lunch (seems to attract a large local lunch hour crowd) and have never been disappointed. Sandwiches, paninis, wraps, salads and soups are always delicious, prices are reasonable and service is great. I love the do-it-yourself water station. Desserts do not appear to be homemade - besides maybe the fudge - but nonetheless look very good. Extensive selection of coffee drinks and other specialty drinks. Definitely worth the trek from The Lake for this shiny little nugget! read more
