India Fest - My take home

India Fest was on hiatus for three years due to COVID. India Fest is normally held in the…read moreAgricenter, as there is ample space for people and parking. It was good to see ample security inside and outside. There are parking lots, but they fill quickly. Be mindul of where you can AND can't park, as towing is enforced. Tickets were $10 for adults, $5 for ages 12-18, and free for kids under 11. You can purchase online and at the gate, but on site is cash only. Upon entry, the vibrant colors and beautiful clothes really stand out! They had several areas of information highlighting many religious, historical, and current literature about the Indian culture with the event schedule posted after this area. There is an area special made for children. I thought that was nice as keeping children occupied during events can be challenging at times. There are many vendors with meals and desserts for sale with seating readily available. The food smells great, and each booth has the restaurant's name and menu. With plenty to choose from, there are plenty of lines. While several restaurants were well organized taking orders and payment, there were a couple that didn't have the same organization. Pricing depends on what you want and have a taste for. For the time we were there, we watched several groups performing traditional dances and a drum show. There were other vendors selling lovely jewelry, saris and other clothing items, a table doing henna, Bombay salon providing brow services (they're awesome), and other tables advertising Mathnasium, yoga and other services within the community. However, the friendliness seemed to vary from vendor to vendor. While some were very welcoming of patrons, a few left the impression that you were not welcome to their table in particular. But overall, we had a really good time and I recommend checking out this festival. It's great to venture out and learn about different cultures and enjoy what the city has to offer.

Someone really should've been guiding where people can park. It would've been nice if the…read moreAgricenter had repainted their parking lots because I could barely see the lines to park in. It would have been nice to have people standing by the displays explaining them. Or informative things to read about them. I would've liked to have learned about the displays instead of just walking by them quickly.

It included things like hayrides, train rides, pumpkin picking, photos, and more. I also love that they have a lot of free play in addition to the paid activities. They children could run, play, feed the goat and pigs, ride bikes and scooters that were around they farm. They also had wagons for toddlers or your pumpkins or whatever you may need. We had a great time sitting out on the benches that are near the food truck. They have affordable carnival style food. We had hotdogs, slushes, cotton candy, and more. The kiddos and adults enjoyed everything. They also have a concession stand in the front where you purchase tickets that has chips, cookies, juices, water, etc. The staff is really attentive to everyone there. Its a balance of free play and supervised activities. Speaking of, the corn maze was another hit. They had number scarecrows that is good for the self-guided style of the farm (of course I made it a learning opportunity for the children). Overall, I would definitely return. Reading reviews, I just realized that they have other holiday activities. I will keep that in mind going forward.

My 3 year old son really enjoyed the animals, bounce houses and featured attractions. Nothing was too scary, but was still cute. It reminds me of growing up in Ohio where I spent my childhood doing similar activities (cute places like this have been hard for us to find) Thank you for making a nice family friendly place !
