I asked for recommendations from family and friends but was not satisfied with the responses I was receiving. I went on Yelp, but unfortunately Yelp is not fully expanded here and therefore people barely use Yelp here. i didn't want to trust the 3-4 salons I found on yelp so I used instragram hash tags to look at the work from the stylists nearby. I found beautiful hair color work by Romina Ortega and knew I had to contact her. We remained in contact via Instagram until I arrived for my app. I booked a 5pm appointment the day after I arrived to GDL,this was completely my mistake because I had no idea that it was going to take 7-8 hours to work on my hair. Romina & Lulu worked that whole time (after hours) to perfect the ashy silver balayage I wanted. I am beyond happy with how my hair came out and completely satisfied with the amazing Lulu and Romi. They are PERFECTIONISTS and isn't that what its all about? I might be traveling back here more often to get my hair done by them. Literally don't want to let anyone else touch my hair now. Do not go here. I made an appt based on a friends…read morereccomendation . All I needed was 1/2 inch of my roots touched up, arrived with my color and developer. I wanted to preserve my highlights which I had done in New York, I do this all over the world, very simple. Until I met Carlos at the Crisco salon. First, I introduced myself upon arrival and said my friends name. He never smiled at me. Not smiling at me was my experience from the entire staff for the next hour. I felt very unwelcome, still I stayed knowing how simple this procedure was. I sat in his chair and he said it's just for color right? I said yes I said just the roots, leave the highlights, I want to preserve the highlights, just the roots, leave the highlights. I was very clear but also friendly. Carlos applied my color Being very careful to apply to only the roots, I complimented his artistry in the application. When he was done applying the color to the roots he took his fingers and mushed the color all the way through my hair. I said my highlights! And he looked at me and shrugged and said your roots. He never set a timer, looked at a watch, clock or spoke to his assistants about processing time. I set my own timer for 30 minutes. At the end of processing I got up and went to the sink and asked if it could be washed out. Everyone glared at me. When Carlos came over for the blowout, which was good, he never looked at me he never asked me a word about anything. When I looked up I discovered he also did not remove the color around my forehead. I did that also. Needless to say my highlights were gone. I'm not sure what my friend sees in this place. No customer service, no glaze after the color, did not listen to what I wished for from my hair, they took the money without a word took the tip without a word, yes I tip them, that's just how it's done in New York. I am now going to Glorioso which has the highest rating for hair salons not only online, but also from local polls. I really should've checked that out in the first place to get my highlights back. I look washed out without them. Stay away from Crisco salon and Carlos.

I wore a scarf until I found Jim and he restored my strawberry blonde hair back to its natural looking color. I could go out in the world again thanks to Jim!
