The Sweet Magnolia is a new bookstore in Odessa, TX…read more My daughters and I searched Google Maps for bookstores before heading to town. This was one of very few shops that emerged. I didn't expect this to be a Christian bookstore, but it made no difference to me. Also for sale was jewelry and t-shirts. The owner and founder, Kenisha, who I did not get to meet because she was not there, strives to "make heaven crowded." Ohhh, I love that. So while I was checking out on June 27, 2026, a pleasant female employee was telling me how new and humble this shop was. As she distracted me, she snuck in a mini Jesus, some postcards, and a small, sealed cup of "wine" (communion cup of juice) in my bag. Items purchased: + Forgiving What You Can't Forget book = $26.99 + Cross Clip = $4.00 It's in an industrial area and you cannot see the shop from University Boulevard as it is on the back side of a building.

Vintage Deluxe is a fun antique store for browsing in Odessa, TX…read more I previously read a few reviews that mentioned vinyl records, so I had my agenda. Sure enough, they had a wide collection. Not huge, but fairly substantial. I didn't buy any, however, this place is definitely on my radar. But the rest of the shop brought on nostalgia mixed with a bit of uniqueness. The staff members were friendly and helpful on June 27, 2026. Ample parking. The building is sort of in an unsuspected area tucked away from traffic.

Seems like they are taking advantage of people by offering them payment on lower k than what it actually is. And after having it tested by 6 other gold or jewelry dealers I'm confident in my statement that they are ripping people off!!! So be cautions if selling anything to them!!

I was intending to leave it burning for only a few hours. just like I have don't before in the past. as I was doing stuff around my room away from the candle. If you stop to chat with the owners, they are friendly and can tell you the history of most items in their stores. The antiques they sell are on the higher end of the price spectrum, but are also grade A items. I've enjoyed browsing there several times over the years. Another reviewer has made claims of racism because they were monitored while they browsed. I was in my mid-teens when I first visited their store and I, who appear to be white, was monitored. Though a bit distracting, I didn't take it personally. If you are looking for first class antiques stop by their place and have a look around. If they get to know you and you're respectable, they won't hover as much. As for Midland Texas, only people that weren't born and raised in the community mistakenly see racism everywhere. They see what they want to see.
