I ended up getting a study bible that was originally around $60 for $20 during one of their deals. We will be returning frequently as we burn through these books.

INFURIATED IN DANGEROUS TIMES…read more My child was totally disrespected and put in harms way. Being a young a driver, he forgot his keys and phone in locked vehicle. As he been taught to go to safe places, He entered Mardel's. A business we had OFTEN shopped, in hopes of calling home. He was told he would not be allowed to use the phone. In hopes of a change of heart, he re-entered the store and asked again. He was then told, "I just told you, NO!" As a mother, I teach you children to be safe. I would have gone into this store expecting the Christian thing to be done and it was not. As an adult she could have said, "I will call for you." I pray their children never forget. He walked 3 miles home. LESSON LEARNED! I'm glad God is, and shows real LOVE.

Crazy to see how Mardel has changed over the years...it's more quiet, not as much staff to assist you. They have a good selection of books, school supplies, home items. I remember the days they had the cassette tapes then cds, and even sound proof rooms to listen in. Am I dating myself yet??! They do have rotating sales, some items, such as pens and other school supplies, Will still cost more than other stores. But, I'd rather run in here than a big store and have to wait in their lines. I was surprised they charge $5 to engrave a Bible now, not sure how long they've done that. They will have options other stores don't in some items, so it's worth stopping in.

However, I had an unfortunate interaction with an employee who just had an off day. When I received an email asking about my experience I shared in a kind manner. He provided a refund I never requested, which was nice, but doesn't cover the cost of having insulted me.
