Pastor Kevin preaches wisely and Pastor Valerie preaches in a fun way to give life to the word. They are both amazing speakers, "ON FIRE"! Everything you could want in a church is here: - most…read morewelcoming loving people, felt at home before I even knew any names - this is a no agenda church, every sermon is straight from scripture, I don't feel judged at all, but rather I am being taught what the Bible says - worship is SO FUN! Everyone is singing, dancing, and the atmosphere is genuinely so good, I've never felt so comfortable to let loose and enjoy the presence of God - the leadership is not only super balanced, but so wise. The pastor and/or an elder will probably treat you to a breakfast or lunch and get to know you but talking to them feels amazing. No judgement, you can definitely see how they influence the church with their openness and wisdom. - KIDS MINISTRY! It's amazing for parents, there are SO MANY KIDS AT THIS CHURCH! Such a family oriented community here. - Everyone I have talked to so far and have become friends with really take Jesus serious. There isn't a lot of two-facedness if I can say that. As in, what you see is what you get. - Lifegroups are a must! I leaned that I was a sinner in need of a savior - I agreed, ok, now what? Since then I have learned God has given me life, filled me with the power of the Holy Spirit and I can make a difference in the world, my community, my family and my life (Through love and speaking and living out the truth of the scriptures). I also learned that God loved me unconditionally -say what!- get this, there was nothing I HAD to DO to make Him love me more and nothing I might do (ah... did do) that would cause Him to love me less, is that amazing or what! How did I learn this- through God's word, preaching from the pastors, seeking a mentor, being a mentor, going to (consistently) peer-run classes, BSF and more. They have great youth groups here an do a great job of staying connected way past the youth groups. I"ve gone to the youth groups growing up an they've helped quite alot. I like how they're upfront an tell it like it is not just tell you things to make you happy. The bbq's in the summertime are great too wink wink. During the pandemic, my wife and could not attend church services in person, and when things did relax, I had a series of medical issues that kept me out of the pews. During that time, my wife started following a couple of online Sunday services including the worship music and sermons broadcast from Burlpres. The staff prayed for me when I had a couple of surgeries. Their genuine caring was comforting. My wife and I were still enjoying the online services when a staff member invited me to attend Burlpres' start-up cancer survivor group in September 2023. I made several new friends at the group's meetings. My wife and I attended holiday services a couple of months later then decided to become regular Burlpres churchgoers. It's been great worshipping there for the past year. What makes Burlpres a great worship experience? The services bring heaven and earth and all people together in a weekly renewal of faith. Lead pastor, Rev. Graham Baird, leads most services. He is assisted by Rev. Jan Armstrong, and Rev. Elizabeth Frykberg. Their messages are thoughtful, uplifting and inspirational. Director of Worship Steven Hall's worship team is second to none. You cannot just listen to his worship team; you'll want to join in the singing. Burlpres is a small church that strives to make an impact wherever those in need of help may be found. Last fall, Rev. Graham visited a Christian church in Pakistan to bring donations and preach in support of young women forced into arranged marriages. This past week, Burlpres sent hundreds of pounds of clothing and funds to help victims of the Eaton wildfire in SoCal near La Canada. If you're new to San Mateo peninsula area and are looking to reconnect with God or start your personal spiritual journey, Burlpres is a good place to start. Found the church, they actually do service at St. Andrews in San Bruno 1600 Santa Lucia Ave, San Bruno, CA The service was nice and they were all friendly. Very small service, even for 8am, only 6 other attendees besides myself. However the service was great, I missed part of the sermon because I went to St. Elizabeth's first and saw the note on the door. They were welcoming, when I came in showed me the service pamphlet and after came and introduced. Seems these 2 churches are combining forces some services are held at St. Elizabeth's and regular Sunday service is held at St. Andrews.

When the pastor is asked several times "can someone reach out to the seniors or can they be communicated to about church events?" The pastor's answer is they can always check Instagram. Please realize, folks over 65 are not the most comfortable with social media. Many church events, however only family and close friends who are related to the pastor get invited. This used to be a wonderfully inclusive church for decades. The new administration are young and don't appreciate anyone older than them.
