She has been with our family ever since and has really fought for Liam at every turn. When we first started with her Liam's behavior was starting to go extremely downhill to the point where he was hitting and biting, he even gave me a black eye. Today he's in 2nd grade, is one of the sweetest kids I have ever met and is incredibly happy. I think some of Sherry's greatest strengths are: -parent training -putting a tailored program together that meets the need of your child -working with insurances to best meet the needs of the family -finding other services and programs that would be beneficial to the family

After a 6 week stay in the NICU, and a G-Tube placement, we started feeding therapy with Teresa through the Golden Gate Regional Center. During our time in the hospital and just after, we met with a number of feeding therapists that were next to no help with us. It was frustrating and sad, especially as new mom. When I met Teresa, I told her upfront that I was having a hard time and that I needed someone that could really help us get to a place where we could wean off our feeding tube. Nearly a year later, my daughter has been tube-free for almost five months, and has been mostly oral for about nine months. So much of our progress has been because of the help I got from Teresa. She has amazing patience, and really listens to what you're saying and offers useful and constructive ways to help. Nothing about it is forced, and along the way, there's also a gentleness in her approach to moving to the next steps. Of all our early intervention providers, Teresa is the one person I really wanted to meet with on a weekly basis because I knew there'd be constructive and helpful takeaways from our meetings. We recently had to relocate out of the state, and I am incredibly sad that I couldn't bring Teresa with us. Hopefully this means that Teresa can now help another family in the same way that she helped ours. Thank you Teresa and SF Speech!

Knowing she has many school years ahead, I wanted to give her one more year free from rigid schedules and structure. When I was searching for preschools last year, I worried about whether she would be okay without me--whether her needs would be met, and whether her voice would be heard. I was concerned that, as the youngest in a mixed-age group, she might be pushed around or overlooked. I wanted play to stay at the center of her days, with her choosing where her interests took her. Glenridge eased all of my concerns. They have an incredible focus on guiding children through social interactions. Even though she was the youngest, and her voice was soft at times, the parents in the classroom are trained to observe, narrate conflicts, and help them resolve issues on their own. And when words fail, we give them the language they need. Glenridge isn't just a place where kids are cared for--it's a place where they truly develop and thrive.

She specifically asked to go to a camp where she could look at bugs, climb trees, and collect leaves all day long-- TFT delivered and then some! The camp is well-organized. Good communication before and during camp sessions. The counselors are incredibly nice and you can tell that they love their jobs. I would happily re-enroll her at TFT next summer. Note: my daughter is fairly independent and responsible for her age. She enjoys imaginative play, makes friends easily, and speaks up when she needs help. Kids who need structure or hand-holding may not do as well in this camp.

Our son went to Sandmann for almost 2 years and we couldn't say enough great things about he love…read moreand care he received there every day. The owners (J & P) are so kind and attentive to the kids. They were very reliable and always thought ahead of time about everything in these challenging times (covid, bad air due to fires etc). Unlike other schools, Sandmann did not close even for a day during Covid! This was a huge relief for us as we are both working full time and could have not possibly taken that much time off. If kids got sick, P&J had very strict but reasonable guidelines (stay home until symptoms stop, testing etc). The teachers were all also very professional, reliable and kind. Our son always looked forward to going back, and made so many friends there. Food was great (organic and very healthy while still delicious). Our son definitely ate more there than home :) They had a ton of activities from circle time reading to tons of outdoor activities in the backyard and at the nearby playground. Ore covid, they also went to library, fire station, zoo, beach, etc. We had no cases of covid in 1.5 years there, which speaks a volume to the standards P&J set with the staff and kids around washing hands etc. We were very sad to leave but it was time for kiddo to start pre school. I would highly recommend Sandmann to anyone looking for safe, caring, kind and fun environment for their toddler.

Our little girl has attended Sandmann Daycare for a little more than half a year. We are now forced…read moreto stop her daily care there because we are moving out of the country. We are writing this recommendation because Sandmann Daycare is one of the things we will miss the most about San Francisco. Sandmann Daycare is run by very loving and caring people. With their German background, they aim at mixing European and American thoughts on the upbringing in their daycare. They hire in pedagogical personnel of both German and American backgrounds to take care of the children on a daily basis. Therefore, the language in the daycare is also a mix of German and English, which the children seem to easily adjust to. We have only met engaged, happy and loving caregivers who are handling the children with the greatest deal of professionalism and love. The food and drinks the children get are very good and nutritious. The children get both American and German specialties and we know that some German traditional plates are also served to the children. As part of the meals, the children are taught nice eating habits and even the smallest ones are encouraged to use spoon and fork and eat nicely. Good behavior is, in general, encouraged and taught, though the children's individual personalities are also cherished. We have really enjoyed seeing our girl grow confident and well-behaved, much with the help of Sandmann Daycare. The children are outside playing every day at the daycare playground or at a playground nearby. Parents are asked to bring clothes appropriate to the weather so that the children can go out. This is something that we are very happy about, and we think our daughter thrives with this. The most important priorities for us, when finding a good daycare for our daughter, were that she would enjoy her day and that she was taught to engage in social interaction with other children. Regarding the former, we know that our daughter absolutely loves her daycare and is thrilled to go there to her friends - we even have other experienced to compare with, and this has been far the best! Regarding the latter, we believe that the daycare truly helps the children with interaction skills as they are enough in the group to learn how to function as such and as they, for instance, leave some conflicts for the children to solve (while they still watch them closely). We have also witnessed our girl play with the children from the daycare which was a fantastic experience. Not only have we seen that these two factors hold true in Sandmann daycare, but we have also experienced our daughter grow in every way (psychologically, physiologically, emotionally, in language, etc.) and she has learned so much since she entered the daycare. The owners run the care in a very structured way and regularly send out needed information. We always feel informed about what happens at the daycare and, at the same time, we have never felt overwhelmed with information either. When we pick up our girl after a long day we are also informed about her day from practicalities such as how well she has been sleeping to content-related information as what she/they have been doing and if she has had a good day. All in all, we would like to give Sandmann daycare the best recommendations and wish them the best of luck in the future. We are sad to leave you and hope to see you again in the future.
