I have been a State Farm customer for 16 years. 10 years in Colorado, then in NY. My first agent moved across town and Chris Ross took over the office I used. I never get responses from Chris Ross's office. I made a change to my policy in January 2013 and asked Charlie at Chris Ross's office to let me know how much the increase would be. He never responded back to me. I was shocked when my premium almost tripled ($56 short of tripling) from March to April. The premiums are automatically deducted from my account so they already have the money. I called late last night to inquire about the increase and got the answering service, then the billing department, both sent an email to Chris Ross's office At 5:30 today I called again, due to the fact that I did not receive a call from Chris Ross's office. This call also went through to the answering service, I asked to have it elevated to a supervisor and another email was sent to Chris Ross's office. This is not the first incident with Chris Ross's office. Back in 2010 I was changing banks because I was still using a bank in Colorado for bill pay and wanted to change to a local bank. I called Chris Ross's office, spoke with Charlie and asked to stop my automatic payment from the Colorado bank. I was going to call back with the new bank information. Well if you do not do auto pay, you have to pay a month in advance, so immediately I was a month behind on my auto insurance. Charlie failed to mention this to me. My daughter got pulled over and was told that we did not have auto insurance. When I called Chris Ross's office I was told that we did have insurance, so imagine how confused I was when according to the state of NY I did not have insurance for the period in between the automatic payment from the Colorado bank and the automatic payment from the local bank. Which cost me close to $500. The information saying that I did not have insurance was reported to the state of NY by State Farm. Chris Ross's office never contacted me to let me know this. I should have found a new insurance company in 2010. Things I have also witnessed regarding Chris Ross's office that I have ignored, I am a very slow learner. I was sitting on the exit ramp at Route 104 and Five Mile Line Road waiting to turn south on Five Mile Line Road. A white vehicle with Chris Ross advertisement on it was heading south on Five Mile Line Road went through the light I was waiting at after it turn RED for the south bound vehicle. Another incident with that same white vehicle with Chris Ross advertisement on it happened in the parking lot of the Wegmans on Holt Road. Instead of finding a parking space the vehicle was parked in the driving lane directly in front of the store, which blocked the view for anyone turning out of the parking lane. read more

If there was an option for negative stars he would get -10. My experience with Chris Ross was absolutely horrific. Let me begin by saying that his employees are absolutely delightful. I had an appointment with one of his employees I believe his name was Matt or maybe it was Mark, I'm not sure but the meeting was going very well, he was very knowledgeable and polite, he answered all my questions. About 20 minutes in it all went wrong Chris Ross came in and started talking to me about my retirement accounts, I told him I was very happy with my financial advisor, he continued to pressure me into talking about my retirement accounts, I appreciate the fact that he was trying to help but I was not there to talk about that, he would not get off of that topic it was a very large turn off. Then the worst part came, he stared at me very awkwardly without saying anything, it made me very uncomfortable I wanted to leave at this point, he continued on the retirement stuff almost putting me down, he was basically trying to bully me into it. This guy is a horrible person and honestly I don't know how he is still in business, maybe his employees carry him because I found it very hard to be in the same room as him. I can only assume that they are getting paid well to put up with him. The way he treats people is horrendous, he needs to get off his high horse and treat people better, I cannot be the only one that this has happened to, he would probably get more business if he wasn't so arrogant. read more
