Chris and his team recently removed popcorn ceilings and painted the interior of my 2600 sq foot house. What one vendor said would take over a month to do, Chris's team did in three days! Plus, we thought dealing with the popcorn removal of the ceilings and then interior painting would leave us with a dusty heap of mess. On the contrary, his team of pros left the house with minimal dust and minimal work for us to once everything was completed. I just had my exterior house painted by CHRIS PAINTING. I have nothing but praise for Chris' son Josh and crew. I have a fairly large 2 story 3300 sqft home and this guys knocked it out in less than 2 days. I had LED string lights all around my trim so they had to take them all down in order to paint the trim. They were gracious enough to reinstall them perfectly, actually even cleaner than my install. I a Law Enforcement officer, I'm pretty skeptical of contractors at my home, but they were outstanding to.work with, no issues what so ever. They painted my trim, pop outs back patio, 2 doors, garage door as well as main house stucco. Oh yeah, the price...I had 3 other bids and no one even came close. Chris painted my my walls which were acrylic semi gloss with acrylic satin finish. The paint did not adhere and started coming off the walls in the bathrooms. Chris said that satin finish acrylic will adhere to say Mike loss acrylic then the next time I spoke to him he told me the problem was that the paint underneath it was oil base. This wasn't true because I still have the original paint and it too was semi gloss acrylic. I tried to prove it to his pain or by using a cotton swap with alcohol and I was able to remove the paint underneath it. All the paint had to be scraped off and I still have to worry about the rest of my house. They failed to properly prepare the walls with either sandpaper or chemical before changing from a semi gloss to a satin finish. My main reason for a negative feedback is because Chris lied to me about two different things. Three different painters told me you cannot put satin finish on semi gloss even if they are both acrylic. The second lie was that the previous paint was oil base and I still had the previous paint in a 5 gallon bucket plus I was able to take that paint off with alcohol. I had all the paint left in my medicine cabinet's and on top of my shower mess from the paint which had to be scraped off the walls before they painted. read more

Mr. Kim painted my entire house, including walls, ceilings and door jams, in October 2018. I had hired him approx 12 years ago to paint my condo, which he did a good job. This experience was not as pleasant. On the only walk through he did, he was sarcastic when I asked him if he would like me to remove all nails in walls left by previous owner. He said he would do a better job. His crew did not remove all nails, just painted over them, even after a second attempt. There are random spots of paint on doors, tile floors and a few marks on the ceilings. I have a new bar table that was delivered 2 weeks prior and never used. His crew laid an oil plug from my wall onto the table stripping the varnish causing irregular spots on the table top, damaging it. I have photos of it UNDER their protective plastic. I initially told him I was just informing him of the damage and he showed interest in repairing it and told me he would contact me about it. 5 weeks went by with no response. I contacted him and asked if he would just use his painter's bond insurance to replace it since repairing would not truly make it look new again. He refused saying his deductable was too high and he would have to pay out of pocket. Overall, Mr Kim knows the painting business. My walls are painted well and he matched the colors I chose. My lesser complaint is the sloppiness of nails left in the wall and paint splatters. My main complaint is his rude attitude and taking no responsibility for damage to the table and no professionalism. There is no written contract, so I am stuck with replacing the table myself. I advise PROCEED WITH CAUTION. read more

I do not recommend. I've hesitated posting a review and have given Chris two stars instead of the one I'd really like to give, because he did get the work done promptly (perhaps this is the root of the problem) and he did hesitantly agree to come back to complete more repairs when he had the time. But after paying out good money, having his workers out to our home twice, and now finding that the paint is peeling on the repairs, I have to say that enough is enough. How many times would you continue to go to the same doctor or repairman only to find another issue and the first one never resolved? Time to move on. I have many photos, factual documentation of the work done July 2019, if interested. I recommend that you also move on and find another painter. Update- You sent someone out once, not twice. Your son said that you customarily send someone out after floors and base moulding are installed as a courtesy. This would have been the third call, but after finding more things missed and the paint peeling on the window sills, we decided it was time to move on. And, as a reminder, initially did discuss filling holes and smoothing rough spots. In fact, your son said that you do tend to forget to pass on specific instructions as to what needs to be done. Ask him, the conversation took place at the kitchen counter. We hired a "professional" and as such expected a professional job without drip marks, missed spots, holes left in walls, and peeling after a month, etc. I don't feel that it should have been our job to point things out for "professionals" and we certainly did not expect a new home in 100% condition. My husband and I are reasonable people and were not threatening, in fact one can interpret your behavior as hostile. I also have photos which I am more than happy to post as evidence.
