I took my Schnauzer to Hartman for his entire life. At least 1x per year he'd get some sort of…read moregastrointestinal issue, usually a little blood in the stool. Almost a decade of charted issues and routine check ups. Somehow, his back tooth got bad enough that it got infected. Took him in on a Thursday and the vet prescribed him NSAIDs. Now, at this point, I have no idea. I'm not a vet. I trust the professionals. By Friday night he is puking up blood. Hartman closes at 5pm, this happened literally at 5:15 pm. So I hope for the best and plan on taking him in on Monday. He wound up having to go to the emergency vet because he started wailing in pain toward Sat night. Come to find out, NSAIDs are not good for gastrointestinal sensitive patients and is ultimately what caused his internal bleeding. Why was he prescribed NSAIDs with his charted history. A simple google search of "should you give NSAIDs to someone with GI issues" returns a resounding NO. Yet they did and my dog is no longer here because of it. My GFs dog, who grew up with my Schnauzer, was a long haired Daschund. After he was 10 years old, Hartman said over and over that his teeth were getting bad but at his advanced age, wasn't a good idea to be put under. Fast forward SEVEN years later of this being the same narrative when we would take him in and say "maybe we need to pull some teeth here". Nope, he's too old for that. Well, finally, his teeth abscessed and Hartman finally agreed to put him under and do some surgery. They cleaned his teeth and pulled a few and assured us he should be on the right path. Less than a month later we were back in their office because his mouth was worse. The infection was so bad it had eaten away some of his upper pallet and was rotting through the outside of the skin (see below EDIT: couldn't post due to it being graphic because his little face was THAT BAD). They FINALLY realized they fucked up and referred to us to Memphis to a vet that specializes in dental issues. They were appalled at his condition and could not believe that he had been under the care of a licensed Vet, much less Hartman who they take referrals from all the time. This vet is like a bad PCP. Cookie cutter diagnosis, always by the book even when the patient presents with obvious symptoms, nope, by the book. One dog died due to their negligence and my other dog suffered needlessly for YEARS with infected teeth because the book said it was risky to do a teeth cleaning on a dog that was 10. He lived until 17 AND HAD SURGERY AT HARTMAN at 17 years old. Had they taken his teeth more serious (and shame on me for "trusting" the professionals against my better judgement, a mistake I will not make again) my sweet little guy would have had a much better quality of life in his golden years. **I kept this all to myself for a few years until I realized they are paying to be promoted on Google as a top result. Please take your beloved animals anywhere else**

Our 16 year old Luna was a work-in referral because our regular vet was out of the office. She was…read morevomiting, crying when using the potty and acting like she didn't feel well at all. I wasn't sure about this, but sometimes things happen for a reason. The facility is really nice inside even though it is a repurposed older home, and it is very clean and did not smell like a vet, which is a plus. The front desk staff was very caring and took time to talk with us even though she was a work in. The nurse was awesome, and Luna was not scared of him at all. She ended up staying overnight for fluids and medicine after the doctor did a complete blood work-up and even had her records from her last blood work up from our usual vet sent over. She ended up having a really bad kidney/UTI infection. The doctor was also very caring and took time to talk with us about what could be causing her infection and how to treat it. The cost was very much in line with what our other vet would have charged. Most vets are pretty expensive, and if you can't afford the vet costs, you shouldn't have pets.Often you get what you pay for. I was thinking about moving vets anyways, so it looks like they may have gained a couple of new patients. Five stars!!!

They are horrible people who not only dosmt do any kind of exam on my dog but refused to give him…read moreany medication to help him with anxiety. I love my doc and can't stand to see him suffer. They said they would call in a medication that takes months to kick in. They wouldn't even prescribe a medication that would help him immediately at least until that medication started working. Then they proceeded to any medication to help him on top of that they called the police I guess because as I was holding my dog back from freaking out on them my shoes would slip on their tile and not to feel I was impaired in . So I begin to pull out of the parking three police cars pull up behind me and tell me that what they said or what they called gave me and said I was free to go and they didn't understand why they called them on me. I just dog to and not an agony every day not to mention I can't handle my dog and feel that I have to give him to another if I can't help him with his anxiety and aggression. But Saint Francis veterinary certainly has no interest in helping which is what they're supposed to do and then they to cause problems humans as also charge me for the visit which again they did nothing never lay a hand on him and when I asked for a refund they told me no they should not be practising. They clearly do not have their pet patience in their best interest. They make assumptions about the dog owners with absolutely no cause and refuse to help animals that are clearly in need of help what disgusting people I have lost all respect for vets that claim to love animals. For everyone's furry babies, I hope you choose this Clinic.

He would not stop barking (loudly) but he didn't lose his patience and was kind and got on the ground to pet him. They brought in some dog toys and tried all they could to make him comfortable.
