After spending several hours trying to catch up with the culprit who's made off with it, you call SLO PD, all the while thinking that a missing cellphone probably won't be something they'll have time to help with beyond taking down your information over the phone. However, now imagine that two officers not only meet you at the cell's last known location, they spend the next hour-plus helping you determine where it currently is, then go into the residence building to try to retrieve it. We were so very impressed with the thoughtful determination of these officers. Their time, care and diligence went far beyond the call of duty, and we couldn't be more appreciative and thankful to them. There are still heroes amongst us.

I spoke with the first office and very arrogance and was told that Detective that I had been speaking with would come out and talk to me, waited for a while and no one show up. I went back to the window and a woman stated that Detective partner would speak with me. I had to leave, because I had an emergency at one of the property that I Manage. I pray that the San Luis Obispo Police Department get together for the sake of the Community. We need good Police Officer.

My thoughts and worries about my 'tough job' went out the window. These guys have a job that is far 'tougher' than anything I've ever done. And they do it day in and day out. Anytime I have ever had any dealings with the Scotts Valley Police they have been very polite and professional. And yes... I've gotten a ticket before... and had a car accident in town so I know. I know some of these folks personally and they are great people. P.S. I only gave them 4 stars because I never give anything 5 stars... Keep on doing the great job you do. He was willing to put himself at risk to try and make sure everyone else was safe. He was calm under pressure and the very fast moving situation. He is good at communicating. He can communicate clearly without coming across rude or bossy. He kept me safe. He also kept another young lady safe when a semi-truck hit her car. (So he had one stalled vehicle that couldn't move, then another accident to deal with). Officer Bruch is good at managing priorities under a fast paced, dangerous environment. If you think these posts are depiction of a poor force, you need to travel more and experience what other communities and countries endure. The PD is poor because you called in a loud music complaint - (probably one of many they receive nightly). And you can't provide an address, really?Right there, bottom of the list. My guess is if it was that important you could have figured it out. The PD wasn't there to stop a motorist from running down a pedestrian? Guess what... happens everyday in the Bay Area and PD can't be everywhere all the time. Yes, I agree traffic enforcement needs to be stepped up but more importantly, people need to take responsibility for their actions which includes being aware of what's around them. Put down your cellphone, put your make-up on at home, leave the burger in the bag till you stop the car. Distractions feed the problem. In closing I'll offer, what prompted me to visit this Yelp page was an experience I had last evening while out with friends. We were in a local pub and in walks 4 Salinas PD officers. Of course the mood was silenced as most people looked. Turns out they weren't there for a problem, they were there to be visible and prevent any potential problem. They worked their way through the crowd, stopping to talk to people, shaking hands, then they walked out. It was a good thing and I believe most people in the pub that evening would agree with me.
