Lovely boutique, I initially knew the brand for its watches but ended up buying 3 nice pens for my Christmas gifts. They all came in a really nice leather case that was nicely wrapped. read more

My goodness. This…read moreshop is located on a major street that stretches forever and is lined with numerous shops and small eateries. I was looking for a big sweater since I did not come adequately prepared for the sudden cold (low 30's in the evenings). Primark is like your local Ross store but a step lower since about 80% of the clothing/accessories/shoes are not brand names, but I was surprised at how inexpensive yet trendy some of the items were. For example, they had a sale on men's jeans for 7 Euro. I purchased a scarf that was inexpensive but good luck if you need to try on anything. This store was packed to the brim. Inexpensive, good variety of items, and filled with a majority of locals from the other side of Brussels, if you understand the meaning.

In the center of town near the Galeries de la Reine are several old world hat and umbrella shops that are a throwback to yesteryear. I'm talking the kind of stores with only a few models in the window but lots of stock hidden in the back that you need to have the vendor go and fetch for you depending on your size and preferences. I decided this year that I was NOT going to be cold this winter. After finding a great down jacket that is cosy glamor, my target was my head and my goal was to get it covered stylishly and well before the temperature dropped. I spotted an adorable knitted wool hat in the window and stepped inside Monsel for more investigating. Turns out that there were several other models in the same style, each hand-knitted in Nepal using thick, lush wool and available in lots of wearable colors. I settled on a dark grey cap with a faint air of Amelia Earhart that has a removable next strap. For 50E, it certainly wasn't cheap, but more than worth the price for its cute/quality ratio and the fact that I'd never seen or heard of the brand before.

Despite that I handed it in and he promised to get back with an offer. I should pay 50 EUR and he told me that I would get these refunded if I rejected the offer and they will be deducted from the total price if I accepted. Fair enough. After almost two weeks I has not heard anything so I contacted them. Then an offer came but it was way to expensive so I decided to refuse. My girlfriend went to pick it up, but it was not here (it was a Tuesday). The staff promised to get back to me by the end of the week so I could pick it up. But they did not. So I send another email and went for picking it up. But the owner refused to pay me the 50 EUR back. He would probably accuse me for not telling the truth. It was only recently that the battery needed to be replaced, so I went back to Green Time. There, they determined that the sealing ring--which was rather flimsy--was no longer serviceable. And, unfortunately, they didn't have any spare parts. I contacted the manufacturer, Ice Watch, but they stated that replacement parts were only available from official distributors. (Interestingly, Green Time, which sells a wide variety of ICE watches, is not an official distributor.) The manufacturer referred me to a few distributors in the Brussels area. They either no longer existed, couldn't help me, or were about to stop distributing ICE watches. That manufacturer needs to update its list of distributors on the internet as soon as possible !!! After quite a bit of back-and-forth communication, the manufacturer finally sent me a new sealing ring. Today I went to Green Time: they installed the new ring in my watch, and they didn't charge me anything for it. Conclusion: My watch gets a 5 out of 5; the manufacturer's after-sales service deserves a 3 out of 5 (I originally gave it a 1 out of 5); and Green Time gets a 5 out of 5!!!
