Recently, Farmers issued multiple checks for repairs in an uninsured motorist claim. They unexpectedly pulled one on the checks back from my account, without notice. Previous to this, I had gone to special lengths to call and request that everything be issued in one check. I was told Elizabeth was unable to take my call at that time- deferring me to other team members in the office. I was told she cannot speak with every customer and I would need to work with whoever called me back. When that call came, I spoke to her husband, Brad, who explained it is no longer possible to get a single check due to Farmer's policies. I accepted this response and did not press more. Fast-forward to October 4th, I discovered the discrepancy in my bank account from the retracted check and immediately text the office. I received no response. Update: After writing this review and sending an additional follow up request to the office, I did receive an update. Unfortunately I was initially given an incorrect answer on the issue and had to press to get more information. The representative was kind but also let me know I should be calling Farmers directly as this was not her job to sort out. I am still unsure why I have an agent in this setup.

She goes over and beyond to make sure her client's needs are met. She is like a family friend rather than an agent. When you walk in the door she makes you feel welcome and valued as a policyholder. She listens to your needs and she will go to bat for you if you have problems getting your needs met. In addition, the owner of this agency is just as committed to customer satisfaction. I will give you a personal example. There were very strong winds that came through our town and damaged my roof, not substantially, but enough to need repairs. I called Nationwide and talked with an adjuster. He was slow to respond and was uncooperative, to some extent. I called my agent and Shelia was very understanding and assured me that this was not normal for Nationwide and that she would find out where the problem was. Within an hour, the adjuster called me and started the ball rolling again. Unfortunately, it was the same adjuster and he became uncooperative once more. I again called my agent, and this time she contacted the owner. He also assured me that this adjuster is an outlier and he would take care of the problem. Within hours the problem was solved. The adjuster called, apologized, and took care of the damages to my roof. While my experience with the damage to my roof was disappointing and somewhat stressful because of the adjuster, I would never leave this company because my agent and the owner took care of everything for me. I was not alone in dealing with the adjuster. I had someone on my side helping me through the process. I felt safe and that everything was going to be alright because of this local company - and I will not go anywhere else. When damage occurs to your property, it can make anyone anxious and frustrated. It is wonderful to know that there are people out there who can help mitigate the stress of the situation for you - and make everything better than new, again.

I had to file a complaint with Tennessee DOI and finally someone would help. Because of this delay caused by the corporate "policy" the agent refused to refund all the payments automatically drafted after the death of my mom. Issuing a partial refund, they actually restructured the coverage dates to create documentation to collect my dead mom's money. In this, I also learned they were still collecting insurance on my dad who died in 2022. They run the business like a subscription service and collect premiums without ever checking on their customer's needs. Look elsewhere if you want an insurance company who cares about customers over "policy" and an agent with integrity who will provide service to meet your needs and do what's right.
