This is a treasure of a specialty boutique store for the creative and creative at heart. Lovely yarns for knitting and crafting (Lydia L where are you?), home accessories like candles and pillows and wonderful big latte cups with saucers that could double up for serving soup, clothing, personal care items like colorful hair clips and fabulous bath products. Some things are local and others artisan focused national brands. Such friendly people work here and they are very happy to answer questions and point you in the right direction but are not at all pushy. Located downtown right next door to Red Velvet Bakery and I discovered Twisted Hearts when we went to Red Velvet for breakfast given the stores are interconnected and open up to each other. (Which means the same beautiful old wood floors are in Twisted Hearts so be sure to look down as your browse about.) Sadly, I lacked the time to shop there as I wanted to and stay on my schedule. Cleverly concealed in downtown Buffalo, Wyo.'s "Sheriff Walt Longmire re-election campaign headquarters" on S. Main Street, this is the place for all the fan necessities one could ever desire. Especially cool is that the business is run by Johnson's wife, Judy -- who book fans know from the dedications of all of his books. (She *is* as special as the dedications imply). And Johnson frequently drops by the store. I greatly admired Branch Connelly's tan jacket from the TV series, but was disappointed that it isn't made by Carhartt or some other provider I knew. Judy carries the real thing -- Schaefer Outfitters ranch wear clothing (made in the USA!) and I can happily confirm that the coat is not only a good looking garment, but the match for blustery Wyoming fall weather. (My wife insists I remove my new coat before coming to bed.) In fact, Judy said she persuaded TV producers to outfit some of the cast in Schaefer clothing for an authentic Wyoming look. This is a fun store with super staff (besides Judy) and a lot of clever Longmire-iana. Buffalo is a charming small town with a lot of Western history and many iconic businesses that Johnson has incorporated into his mythical Durant, Absaroka County Longmire universe. Even if you are not a Longmire fan, Buffalo is worth a visit. If you are a fan, this is a "must stop."

The staff here knew their selection well and pointed me right to the items on my wish list. Most items were about 30% cheaper than home, excluding Scotch and some of the nicer bourbons. Not sure why, but many of them were more expensive. If you are a local, be thankful you have a place like this with such great prices and helpful staff. If you are passing through, do yourself a favor and stock up at a discount.
