This was our first visit to Chocolate City, and we tried several different desserts. Everything was beautifully made, and I'll be posting pictures of each one.
The banana was surprisingly not banana-flavored. It had chocolate mousse inside that reminded me a little of chocolate milk, only in a light, creamy mousse form. It was still delicious--just not what I expected based on its appearance.
I was also a little surprised that the coffee bean didn't taste like coffee. It had a tiny piece of cake in the very center surrounded by mousse. Although I would have preferred a coffee flavor, it was still very good.
We purchased two raspberries. I didn't personally try one, but my friend absolutely loved hers and said it might have been the best dessert she has ever had! My husband also had one and really enjoyed it.
The mango was my personal favorite. The mousse was very light and not overly sweet, with a mango jelly or jam-like center that had a wonderful mango flavor. I honestly wish I had bought more than one!
We also purchased the adorable mushroom, but we haven't tried it yet, so I'm not sure what flavor is hiding inside. I wish I had remembered to ask!
Altogether, we purchased two raspberries, the mushroom, the banana--which was designed as two overlapping bananas--the mango, and the coffee bean. Our total with tax was around $76. These are definitely special-occasion-style desserts, but they are beautiful, unique, and delicious. We will absolutely be back! read more
