As a long-time medical provider, I never thought I'd be pursuing legal action against another medical professional. However, due to complications from cataract surgeries performed by a W.H. ophthalmologist, I was no longer able to work in my profession. I could no longer read nor work at a computer for longer than 15 minutes at one time. After my 2nd surgery, I could not even read the Big E on the eye chart! I required emergency surgery the next day with a different eye surgeon, at a different facility. I called the law firm of RisCassi & Davis in Dec. 2023, hearing about them from their t.v. & radio commercials promising their full faith effort to achieve justice for their clients. I was assigned to Attorney Iannaconne. He told me these types of cases are difficult but he thought he could help me. I was told we'd need to work quickly because the statute of limitations was approaching. The plan was for him to speak with my current eye doctor & get back to me. Two weeks later I had not heard back from Atty. Iannaconne. I called him and learned that he hadn't yet spoken with my eye doctor but was going to call her the following week & get back to me with his thoughts on my case. Two more weeks went by & no call from Atty. Iannaconne. I called his office and left a message on his VM. No return call. A week later I called again & spoke with his assistant who stated she would sent him an email and have him get back to me later that Friday. No return call. The following week I spoke with his assistant who stated he was in a meeting but she was going to transfer my call. She must have forgotten to put me on hold because I could hear him yell from another room, "Get her phone number & tell her I'll call her back." I didn't hear back from Attorney Iannaccone that day, the following week, or ever again. I realized at this point that he had no intention of calling me back. What is most upsetting to me about his actions was that if he did not want to take on my case, he could have just told me so from the beginning or any point along the way. Then I would have been able to seek out the assistance of someone else who might be willing and able to help me. Instead, he chose not to help me and to cause me not to be able to receive help from anyone else because he had run out the clock with respect to the statute of limitations. I have to wonder if someone in the RisCassi & Davis law firm wasn't protecting this ophthalmolo- gist, at my expense. My advice to anyone who is reading this review would be, if you are an elderly female or a medical provider who has been injured or wronged by a medical professional, find another law firm - one where you will be treated with empathy, courtesy, and respect at a minimum. It tends to be exactly what he knows you will be penalized for in front of a judge. The question of why he behaves in this manner cannot be definitively proven. However the end results are undeniable harmful and extremely difficult to recover from, if you are able to recover at all. To date, I am still fighting to undo the damage he caused and I pray that I am successful before I lose the rest of my children's childhood.
