Stopped in for a light lunch and we were pleasantly surprised. Chito's (there seems to be a different name on the building) is a small restaurant serving authentic Mexican food at a fair price. And yummy. Service was counter ordering with staff delivery to the table. Prices were very fair. Ambiance: Chito's reminded me of some of the small town or city's edge places i often visited in Mexico. It felt like it too, with the videos of mariachis playing continuously. I saw a big sign for Menudo & Pozole and since I dearly love me some Pozole, and figured that it would be good from here, I bought a quart to go. It came with chips and all the condiments you would want, and a portion of that wonderful hot sauce to add to it to make it however hot you want it. Undoubtedly it was the best Pozole I have ever eaten. I'm only sorry it's so far to drive to pick up more. But I WILL do it Try this place out if you haven't. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. For the type of restaurant that it is, I can do not but rate it FIVE STARS. read more

So just to set the stage. I am a SUCKER for a vibe and an atmosphere. Like if those 2 things are good the food will taste significantly better. So take everything I am about to say with a grain of salt. BUT LET ME START OFF WITH THE VIBES. IMMACULATE dude this was a random spot in the middle of a shopping plaza, with an outdoor grill where they were cooking the meat, Mexican music playing over the sound system, and a couple stray dogs walking around. I straight up felt like I was back in Mexico. So I was already primed to like the food. I ordered two asada, 1 carbeza, and 1 barbacoa. I was a tiny bit disappointed that they were out of the pollo and pork :( but I ate what I could. - the asada was delicious! hot and fresh off the grill, well seasoned, and well cooked not dry at all! - the carbaeza was super similar to lengua. Nice cubes of meat. Very tender but kind of bland but I think that is pretty status quo with what this meat is supposed to taste like. - the barbacoa was good but kind of salty. It tasted just like a birria taco minus the consumme. Generally, these kind of tacos aren't my favorite so it might be more of a personal preference sort of thing. Any who some additional positive was they have this chunky self serve salsa bar. Where you can customize how much cilantro, onion, radish, verde, roja, pico de gallo, lemon, etc. you want. All the salsa were very good and I appreciated the variety and options! The pico de gallo texture/ look was very fresh with tomato, onion, and jalapeño but it did have a slightly sour smell (idk if i was imagining that or not). I don't think they season their pico de gallo with lemon or salt so if that is what you are looking for I'd skip it but it was a nice palette cleanser between tacos and there is plenty of flavor from the other salsas and lemon wedges they offer. On top of that the vibes were so nice I ended up buying one more asada taco and an horchata! They said they make their own horchata so I HAD to try it. I would say it was refreshing and not too sweet. I also like that you could see how much cinnamon they put into it. Although, there was a lot of charm to the horchata and it did feel very homie for some reason I didn't love it. It kind of tasted like apple cinnamon Quaker oats packet but there is no apple in it. So, idk maybe my taste buds are weird. Overall, would 100% recommend this place. I would come here again. They are a SOLID taco place. Also the prices were pretty good! I think the tacos and horchata were $2 something each. They don't load it up with meat but I think each taco was a pretty good size! read more

Loved the carne asada burritos and tacos! I was drawn in by the smell of grilling meats when I was picking up an order at another local place for someone. They are situated on the corner of a parking lot and have a few picnic tables for eating, so it is fine to eat items while they are hot or take them to go. This place is bomb. The flavor profile is on point and Lindsay isn't famous for its diverse food profile but I'd come here from out of town (I live in Visalia). Fresh and excellent taste. Simple menu. Tortas are just meh. Nothing wow. But the burritos and the bowls are out of control. They have like a little salsa bar so you deck it out as per your desire. Price point is good too. Like I feel leaving really pleased because I feel I got a pretty decent meal for the price and the flavor is just yum. I've had the steak and chicken. Both are really flavorful but the chicken is probably the best. Give it a shot. Their Jamaica is on point but they run out quick. They take call in orders too! Soooooo.... Need I say more?!?! Multiple red and very clearly RAW chicken. I took 2 bites before I felt the texture was off and went to look through the chicken to find varying degrees of "cooked" chicken in my bowl. Apparently I was told they are NOT even permitted. We stopped by this place after our trip to Sequoia National Park, let me tell you, the food it's amazing.! I had a chicken quesadilla that I don't even know how I managed to finished it all, it was huge and extremely delicious. We also ordered some tacos and burritos and everything was yummy.! Its a very small place with some tables outside and a grill, you get to see the steak and chicken getting ready right in front of your eyes. The people who runs this place is supper friendly and sweet . I'm looking forward for my next trip so I can stop by and eat their delicious food again. read more

Chito's is a must have if in Lindsay. It is a super small walkup establishment with limited parking but is well worth it. They cook all of their meat over a big wood burning bbq pit outside and that incredible flavor makes any taco or burrito you get from here stand out above the rest. The prices are a little on the high side for burritos in the area but not when you factor in the quality. My only caution to people is that you will pick up a smokey smell on your clothing while waiting here for your food. A small price to pay for a great burrito if you ask me. read more

I work all over the state and find all the little hole-in-the-wall spots that are owned by Mom and Pop. I stopped eating grains 50 lbs ago so I like to order a bunch of lettuce with all the Fixins onion cilantro jalapeno avocado you name it they obliged and we're happy to fix it for me but when they told me it was $14.50 I was a little bit in shock because I've never paid more than $9 for something like this and have actually had better I am a barbecue Chef as well so I know what I'm talking about when it comes to grilled meat the meat was great! I'm giving it four stars because it was a bit on the expensive side keep in mind it was only a half a pound of meat which they charge $16 a pound. I post this because price does matter for some folks. read more

Delicious grilled meats. I got a pound of asada to go and an all meat burro to eat on the way back home. Owner/Operator was super friendly, wood smelled great. Real wood charcoal is what gives the meat the flavor. Im only giving this 4 starts as of now...I will be coming back and get a couple of chickens to go, and if its good as the asada I may bump my rating to 5 stars. I ordered the half chicken combo for $7.50 and was completely blown away. The chicken tastes as good as the pictures depict. I must admit, I can't do this at home. I love the fresh condiment bar where you can dig into as much of the super fresh veggies and salsa as you want. The Beans are fresh made, whole pinto's, best I've ever had!
