The absolute worse ran chipotle I have ever been to. Waited literally 30 minutes while the employees chatted it up. They were literally taking 5 minutes per customer. Very bad customer service with an unapologetic response to complaints. I ordered through the website....tacos on corn tortillas. The corn tortilla part is important as I have a gluten allergy. I pick up my order and open it...and the tacos are on flour tortillas. No big deal, I go back in the store and they unapologetically said they gave me flour because they ran out of corn. No heads up to me when I pick it up, no asking me if that was ok...no anything...just hoped I would be good with what they gave me. Employees were rude and dismissive which is in line with the overall 2 star review. In addition, they told me to call the 1-800 number to receive a refund. 1 hour of my time later, I was given a refund. Alright so I want you to read this before going. This is long but important so near with me. (TLDR: workers on their phones and not cleaning their hands gave us food poisoning.) We went on January 30 around 6:30 pm. It was crowded and there were 10 or so employees. TWO were working the bar line, and one was cooking the meat. Two were at the register and the other FIVE were on their phones. First, they were out of white rice, which sucks but it's whatever. However, one of the FIVE workers could have been making more, but no. Now, let's talk about these five basically useless employees. They were standing along the back of the wall, standing around with a little chatter but they were doing stuff on their phones mainly. Now, phone screens are disgusting. And I can bet you $50 that these guys haven't cleaned those screens in months. So, they were using their phones without gloves. But then, they got a mobile order. One of them sighs and rolls his eyes and starts to make the order. HOWEVER, he didn't wash his hands after putting their phone in his pocket. But, not only does this guy start putting the burrito together, he does it BARE HANDED. He didn't put on gloves, he didn't wash his hands, he just shoved his dirty hands into that lettuce. Now, these weren't the only problems. Due to this disgusting lack of cleanliness, we got food poisoning. I wonder where we could have gotten this? I wonder what possible germs could have been contaminated in? It's this place. I'm genuinely disappointed because we've been here before, and even though it was dirty, it wasn't this bad. I don't know what changed. I don't know why the manager wasn't doing anything, and why they let these disgusting kids sit around and literally make people sick. Unfortunately, their reputation does not proceed them. Don't go here. It may be the only chipotle in Harrisonburg, but I highly suggest just going somewhere else. 1 star, because 0 and negative 1 million were not an option. Place was DISGUSTING. Every table was dirty, food was overflowing from every garbage can, utensils and straws were left on a large cardboard box for people to fish out (no one bothered to set them out), bathrooms were gross, guacamole was turning brown, food was dry and not freshly cooked. And kitchen full of depressed looking college age kids on their phones, not serving, not doing anything to fix the situation. I would say that they did not see the mess, but then one of them turned to the other and started pointing at one of the overflowing garbage cans and laughing about how gross it was and saying they were not touching it. It is as though someone left middle school children alone to run a restaurant. For someone who loves Chipotle I never imagined that one of my worst dinning experiences would ever be at a Chipotle. I went there around 8:30 on a Sunday night. I ordered a burrito and a cheese quesadilla . The place was extremely dirty inside as far a trash overflowing and counters looking terrible. I was charged 9.50 for a cheese quesadilla and when I asked for a receipt the cashier said we are out of paper but finally put paper in and about 20 receipts came out. I was charged for a chicken quesadilla and explained that I had a cheese one and they looked confused and said that they are the same price . I find that hard to believe. On a good day they're a 3/5, if it isn't a good day then be prepared for utter shit. It is usually not a good day. They're stingy with the vinaigrette, THEY CHARGE YOU EXTRA AND DONT EVEN FILL HALF OF THE CUP. However, that's not typically a problem because most times they lie and say they don't have any. The counters are always dirty, do not bother going in during rush, you will be served a half portion of sad food. I have never been to a worse Chipotle, their standards are literally in the dirt. Rice was grossly under cooked - it was crunchy. They were out of cheese (they always seem to be out of something) and the lids for the small queso cups they put aluminum foil over the top on a to-go order. Employees didn't seem to want to be there, several just standing around while the whole restaurant was a disaster - food ALL over the prep area, trash cans over flowing and tables dirty. I mention my concerns to who I assume was the manager on duty and he didn't even acknowledge me. I just don't think I'll go back.
