We were incredibly fortunate to have Zhang A Yi during the first 3 months of our journey with our newborn. Her experience, attentiveness, and proactiveness in taking care of not only everything for the baby but also our home made such a big difference during this crazy time for us. Zhang A Yi is incredibly knowledgeable about newborn care and immediately stepped in to help the moment she arrived, handling everything from feeding and bathing, to soothing him and putting him to bed. Given we're first time parents, she was also very helpful in decoding our son's crying/fussiness for us and provided great tips for taking care of him. In those first few weeks when we were still adjusting, she would oftentimes even cut her afternoon break short to help out, despite us insisting that she rest. It was honestly surprising to us just how quickly we became comfortable with Zhang A Yi and entrusted her with our son's care. She really treated our baby as if he were her own and it was very reassuring to see just how much she genuinely cared about him (and how much he enjoyed being with her as well). There was no shortage of smiles and cooing when Zhang A Yi was practicing tummy time with him or entertaining him with all his toys. In addition to Zhang A Yi being very attentive to our baby, she was also incredibly observant when it came to the day-to-day. She'd proactively clean any dishes that we left out, and on the occasions that we'd take our baby out with us to meet up with friends, we'd come back to a very clean and organized home (even though Zhang A Yi was not at all required to help with this). And as the cherry on top to all this - she's also a fantastic cook. You'd think that over the course of 3 months we'd have gotten through her entire repertoire of dishes, but she continued to surprise us with something new. This is how a yuesao (confinement nanny) who has been with this agency for over 10 years treated my fragile newborn. I think the video speaks for itself. It is so upsetting. I have so many things to say but the only thing I want parents to know is that I learned that some of these nannies are not professionally trained. In fact, I learned that many uneducated and untrained women are coming to work in USA as a confinement nanny because the pay is so high. As a parent of multiple children, I often wondered why this AYi with X number years of experience doesn't seem to understand how to deal with my baby. She just constantly complained the baby did not sleep well. Only after the AYi left and I took over the care myself, I realized baby had bad reflux so I adjusted her feeding , and she slept much better. I realized these YueSao often works with first time parents (or exhausted second time parents) who may just take the Yuesao's word at face value. That's how she lasted so long. It finally made sense when I hired a formally trained yuesao to come after she left. The first day, the trained AYi listened to the baby drink breast milk and asked if baby had a tongue tie--which she did. The formally trained AYi just knew so much more about actual infant care. My baby was in better hands and did not have such terrible sleeping issues. Despite the lack of formal training , I would have been fine with her if she treated my baby well. But seeing this video , combined with her constant complaining, I just had put a warning out there to other parents. It's just so upsetting because we treated her so well. She has good reviews on here too as well as a decent review from her last family (but it was a first time mom). They insist you to write a review while they're caring for your newborn so of course I gave them a 5 star review. I have since deleted it. After hiring 2 yuesao from Zhou Taitai at different times and now one formally trained yuesao, I now realize that there is a massive differences between the uneducated yuesao and the formally trained ones. Please do your research. The stark contrast with the professional yuesao is just too large to ignore. It doesn't matter if a yuesao claim to have X number years of experience, if they were never properly educated, they will continue doing the wrong thing because no one is supervising their work. My husband and I couldn't be happier with Tang Ah Yi. We were initially very nervous about having a confinement nanny. Our Chinese isn't very good and we have several pets in a small space (large dog and 2 skittish cats). As first-time parents, we were overwhelmed and anxious leaving the hospital, but she arrived the same day and immediately set up, putting our minds at ease. Over her 42-day stay, she seamlessly integrated into our family. Her love for children & animals really helped create a warm, comfortable environment for all of us. I am not exaggerating when I say that she was always able to calm our son when he was at his most fussiest in 15 seconds max. And by the end of 6 weeks, our son was consistently sleeping 6 hours a night. While baby temperament makes a big difference, we definitely are not getting the same results on our own haha. She called all of this experience, we called it magic! One thing we especially want to highlight is that despite her impressive experience taking care of babies, Tang Ahyi was incredibly understanding and flexible about doing things your way. We always felt respected and heard when we made requests or suggestions. We learned so much and she gave us invaluable advice, which made us feel much more confident as parents. It's easy to panic as new parents, and having an experienced, level-headed person to guide us and reassure us about what's normal vs. what's not really took the guesswork out of the process. We spent less time Googling and more time bonding with our baby. Her cooking was amazing, and we honestly wish we took more photos of the dishes--though we were usually too busy digging in! She made delicious meals ranging from European and American to traditional Chinese dishes. The food was not only tasty but also nutritious, and the whole family looked forward to every meal. Zhang a yi has provided tremendous support during her stay from Jan 2 2026 to Mar 3 2026. Before our nanny started, we were sleep deprived, had no time to cook and were dependent on food deliveries to get by. Everything got better as soon as our nanny started around 1 week of age. In the start, she made sure to familiarize herself with our home which helped everything run smoothly. As first time parents, we really appreciated her guidance on child care. She is attentive and always lets us know if she thinks he may be uncomfortable, and guides us on how we can better hold and care for him, such as how to properly change his diapers. She also advised us on feeding amounts and when to increase his ounces. We also didn't realize that some of our baby items were unsafe and recommended some better alternatives, so this gave us some peace of mind. She has amazing natural instinct and intuition when it comes to caring for children. Sometimes we couldn't figure out why our son is crying and she immediately knows why he is crying and how to soothe him. She can easily calm him down within minutes and our son always looks content in her care. In addition, she cooks nutritional balanced meals on a daily basis including meat, veggies and soup. We always look forward to her delicious cooking! Afterwards she will load the dishwasher and tidy the kitchen which we appreciate. She also cares for our son overnight which helped us get a full night's sleep. Yang AYi came to stay with us for just over a month to primarily watch my 18 month old daughter while I had severe morning sickness and food aversions. Her cooking was a life saver, as I was sick constantly before she arrived, but my nausea subsided greatly once because she prepared dishes that I could eat. Zhang Ahyi joined our family just two days after I returned home with my second daughter and stayed with us until my daughter was two months old. From the very beginning, she was proactive, attentive, and eager to help. Even though we encouraged her to rest initially, she was keen to familiarize herself with our home. She quickly learned where the baby's room was, where the baby's clothes were kept, and how the diaper-changing station was organized. She then familiarized herself with the kitchen and how everything worked. Ahyi took great initiative in caring for our household. She wanted to go grocery shopping right away and cooked delicious vegetarian Chinese food for us. We are a vegetarian household, and she adjusted completely to vegetarian cooking for the entire two months. She genuinely enjoyed cooking and feeding our family and often made extra food so my husband and older daughter could enjoy it as well. She ensured the kitchen was always clean and well organized. Without being asked, she noticed that every evening there were dishes from my older daughter's school lunch and began washing them regularly. She also washed any other dishes left in the sink. Every morning, she would wake up early, prepare breakfast for me, and unload the dishwasher. She was very efficient in the kitchen and mindful not to occupy it for long, which made it easy for us to share the space when we cooked Indian food. Since we eat rice frequently, she made sure there was always fresh rice available. She also helped with our family's laundry in addition to the baby's laundry, even though we had not asked her to do so. Ahyi was extremely observant and thoughtful. If she saw tasks we were doing that she could help with, she would ask us to show her how, and from then on she would take care of them independently. Most importantly, she took excellent care of my newborn daughter. She handled all baby-related tasks, including diaper changes, changing clothes, bottle feeding, putting the baby to sleep, and soothing her. Newborns need to be held often, and she never hesitated. I exclusively breastfed my baby, and we developed a smooth routine where I would nurse the baby and Ahyi would burp her, give her tummy time, or put her back to sleep. Her support was especially invaluable at night. Even though the baby slept in my room, Ahyi would wake up every time the baby did, check whether I planned to feed her, and then take over afterward. She would change the diaper if needed and gently put the baby back to sleep in the bassinet. This allowed me to get much-needed rest during the night. She was always open to suggestions and willingly accommodated any feedback. With Ahyi at home, I did not have to worry about managing the household, which greatly supported my mental health during the postpartum period. I felt completely comfortable leaving my baby in her care when I needed to pick up my older daughter from school. While I deeply appreciate all the help she provided with the baby, I am most grateful for the care and support she gave me during this vulnerable time. I was very sad when her contract ended. Lyu ayi is flexible, willing to accommodate our requests. She is easy to talk to and I've enjoyed her fun-loving energy as well. Lyu ayi is very patient and gentle with our baby boy. She has a great understanding of baby's needs and is loving, nurturing, and responsive to him. Some examples are she makes sure he gets measured daily sun exposure, washes his little butt clean after especially big poops. He does not burp easily after feedings, and one night ayi returned from break and said she has been thinking about how best to burp him and came up with a strategy going forward. Xie Ah Yi was fantastic! My wife, toddler, and I enjoyed her food a lot. Every meal consisted of a soup, veggie, and protein dish. With the consistent food and soup to help with milk production, my wife ended up producing so much milk we now have 40+ bags of pumped milk in the freezer. Along with being a great cook, Xie Ah Yi was great with my newborn son. She would wash his bottom with warm water a few times a day to make sure he is clean. She was also really diligent with the night feedings. (Great she was able to download and use the same feed/poo tracking app) At the end of her stay our son went from 5lbs to 8lbs! We had a wonderful experience with Lyu A yi. She was incredibly loving and attentive to our baby. We felt a great deal of trust leaving her in Lyu A yi's care, and that allowed us to enjoy valuable moments of alone time even as new parents. Zhang Ayi wasn't the nanny we originally interviewed, but Mrs Chou was able to find a replacement right away after our original Ayi fell sick. As first time parents, my husband and I were looking for a postpartum nanny to show us how it's done; my mother-in-law put us in touch with Zhou Ah Yi who asked us if we were looking for anything specific in a nanny (parenting style, cooking style, etc). She was very thorough, responsive, and organized. Imagine pairing clients with nannies while not being able to anticipate the day the baby will actually be born! We were open-minded and flexible, so we were happy to be paired with Li Ah Yi after our phone interview. Big surprise, our baby was born 2 weeks early so Li Ah Yi was still with her previous client (I believe you can choose between 26 days and 30 days if you're opting for the traditional confinement period). Zhou Ah Yi kept us updated as she looked for a new nanny; we initially had to wait a week but she found someone who can start 2 days after we got home from the hospital - Xiao Ah Yi! We're so grateful for her during this 26 day period; she always made sure we were happy with what she cooked us (which was delicious - broth for every meal for more milk supply) and reassured us on any worries we had with our baby. She wasn't strict on my intake of herbal medicine or going outside as the confinement period usually calls for, and she practically taught us everything she knew to care for our baby after she's gone. She went above and beyond to ensure we had the rest we needed, like feeding or watching the baby so we could go on a walk or sacrificing her own break time. She doted on our baby as if she were her own, and it was easy to put our full trust in her. It also helps a lot that we don't have a language barrier; she only speaks Mandarin and we were able to understand and engage with her. My review is of Jian A Yi's care for me, my baby, and helping our family adjust to a newborn. She was amazing at figuring out what my baby needed, patient and was attentive without judgement. For our second child, my husband and I decided we wanted to hire a yue sao or nanny to help us out. We are so glad that we found Zhou Tai Tai's agency. Zhou Tai Tai put us in touch with a couple of yue saos so that we could interview them to see which one would be a good fit for our family. We ended up hiring Qiu Aiyi for 3 months. Qiu Aiyi was amazing. She was super hardworking and helpful. We really wish we had signed a longer contract with her. During the time that Qiu Aiyi was with us she cooked us delicious meals, helped with light tidying up of the house, kept our kitchen super clean, and took great care of our baby. She took care of the baby at night, which was super helpful for me to get plenty of rest at night. She would also bathe our baby, take the baby out on walks, wash the baby's butt for diaper changes, and basically went above and beyond for us. I would highly recommend Zhou Tai Tai's agency, specifically Qiu Aiyi, if you're looking for someone super reliable to help you take care of your baby for the first couple of months. read more

We had a great experience with Lu A Yi during Jan 2024. She stayed with us for 30 days after our daughter was born. For anyone considering booking a Yue Sao, do it! I twas sooo helpful. Lu A Yi was extremely hard working -- making delicious lunches, afternoon snack, and dinner every day (she would have made breakfast but my husband preferred to make it) and made sure the kitchen was spotless after all meals. She was an excellent cook and we were particularly impressed with her broth/soup-making abilities. Before she left she made dozens of frozen dumplings for us to have for afterwards. She was very open and attuned to our food preferences -- making more of what we liked. Lu A Yi was great with our daughter, it's very clear that she loves babies and takes care of them like they are her own. She did all of the night care for the baby from 10:30 pm to 9 am! She would also take care of the baby while my husband and I were eating meals. Our baby loved A Yi -- I literally never saw or heard her cry while in her care. After she left, at 1 month old our baby was only waking up once a night (which to be fair is probably partially a baby temperament thing, but I do think A Yi got her on a good routine too). We didn't want to be super strict about all the traditional confinement customs (we took the baby outside occasionally, I took showers, etc), and Lu A Yi was very chill about it and followed our lead. For those thinking of booking nanny, the things I would communicate/know about ahead of time: - Kitchen practices: We are sticklers about food safety (probably moreso than the average family) so we had to explain to A Yi some of our practices. She happily went along with them once we told her. We also had to teach her how to use our appliances. - Language skills: Lu A Yi spoke no English, so only communicated with me and my rudimentary Chinese. She and my husband could not really communicate (other than through translation apps). - Transportation: We had to pay for her car to/from our house from San Jose (it was unclear where she was going / coming from) and the rate was a bit high IMO compared to something like Uber. read more

We had the absolute pleasure of having Lihua Qiu as our confinement nanny for two months after the birth of our second child, and we can't recommend her highly enough. Qiu's care, attention to detail, and professionalism made our postpartum experience incredibly smooth and stress-free, especially given the unique challenges we faced during that time. Just a few days before Qiu arrived, our family had suffered the devastation of losing our home to a hurricane. We had just moved into a rental house, and our stress and uncertainty were at an all-time high. Despite these difficult circumstances, Qiu immediately became a calm and reassuring presence. Not only did she provide exceptional care for our newborn, but she also helped us through this tremendously hard time with a level of understanding and empathy that went far beyond her duties as a nanny. Qiu took charge of caring for our baby throughout the night, allowing us to rest and recover. She was always attentive to the baby's needs and ensured everything was running smoothly. She also took on the responsibility of preparing three nutritious meals a day, even accommodating our vegetarian dietary preferences without hesitation. Her cooking was consistently delicious and nourishing, providing much-needed comfort during a stressful period. We miss her cooking so much that we have been using her recipes and cooking her dishes ourselves. In addition to her care for the baby, Qiu was also wonderful with our 3-year-old toddler. She connected with him right away and was patient and kind, making sure he felt loved and attended to during such a busy time for the family. Beyond her exceptional care for our children, Qiu was a huge help with day-to-day tasks. She cleaned bottles, did dishes, and kept the kitchen tidy, all while managing the extra chaos that came with our temporary living situation. We don't speak Chinese, so we communicated using Google Translate, and it worked perfectly fine--Qiu was always patient and understanding. Qiu's calm demeanor, extensive knowledge, and caring attitude were exactly what we needed during such a challenging time. She quickly became a trusted and irreplaceable member of our household. If you're looking for a nurturing, skilled, and reliable confinement nanny, Qiu is the one you need. She exceeded all our expectations and made a very difficult time so much easier and more manageable. As first-time parents living away from family, we're looking to various different options for support during newborn period. I reached out to Zhou tai-tai to hire a postpartum nanny to help us. Lyu A Yi is incredibly experienced with newborns. My little one is soothed by her right away and she always gets him to take full feeds--when no one else could. She pays attention to the details and I feel that she genuinely cares for the wellbeing of my little one. When we came back from pediatrician visits, I debriefed results with her (ex. A preferred side of head) and she worked with me to help pay attention to it with baby. Her care has honestly been invaluable, especially as I work to recover from a difficult delivery. It's a relief to have such reliable help at home in this vulnerable time. On top of her care, she is an incredible cook. In the cool autumn months, we've been able to enjoy her fresh homemade dumplings, wontons, bone broth, red braised pork, mung bean soup, taro dessert soup. The sauce for Lyu A Yi's spicy cold noodles is certainly going to be a staple in our family rotation even after she leaves us for her next family to care for. Though my Chinese language skills are minimal (little speaking, no reading or writing), we are able to communicate via simple words and translation apps. We worked with YoYo a yi and she is amazing. She helped my newborn son get on a good sleep routine, making sure he was comfortable sleeping in his bassinet during the night and day. She helped me get a lot of rest by taking care of him at night and just waking me up to breastfeed and made sure I could get a couple daytime naps in as well. She has 20 years of experience and really understands how to take care of newborns and is very knowledgeable about lactation as well. She cooks delicious meals for us including cooking for my in-laws and family when they came to town to visit. She was also great with my toddler. We had a wonderful experience with Sie Ayi! Looking back at the past couple months, I can't imagine postpartum life without her. She's a world-class cook, making incredible dumplings and soups and veggie dishes every day, and I learned a ton from her in the kitchen (and thanks to her help with the baby, I actually had energy to get back to cooking and baking). She was so loving and kind towards our baby, uncomplainingly patting her on the back from 2-6am when she wouldn't sleep, singing little songs to her, and overall treating her like one of her own. She's also really jolly and fun, and brings a wealth of experience and cheeky grit to everything she does. For any new moms, I'd recommend being very specific and forthright with your needs (around sleep safety, food, etc.) - sometimes our ayi had differing opinions on what we should do, but when we said something was important to us, she ultimately respected it.
