I would say 3.5 stars and so I rounded up to 4 stars. I will be perfectly honest and can't say…read morethis place is good or my ancestors would nod their head in utter disappointment. Since we are living in wiesbaden, I've already accepted the fact that there is no way we can get traditional Chinese food. Wannabe chinese food? Yep-- this place is decent and the price is definitely fair. They have all the major staple dishes that you'll see at a Chinese takeout place.
The people who work there speak mandarin as they work, German to their customers, and some of them understand English. I was surprised with how clean everything was- the floors, ceilings, and the furniture look like they are new or in very good condition. It's not a hole in the wall place like you typically picture in Manhattan.
I ordered the beef, chicken and veggie pan fried noodles because it's hard to mess that up. The portion was huge and could easily be split. My husband got some fried chicken with sweet and sour pineapple sauce. The fried chicken tasted good, but it was more of a Chicken Katsu rather than your traditional sweet and sour chicken pieces where each individual piece is deep fried in a thick batter. The sauce was more like a duck sauce with pineapple chunks in it. It didn't taste bad, but it just wasn't what we expected it to taste like...
I still miss traditional shao long bao, oyster pancakes, and various dim sum dishes.... but one perk is that they have spring rolls here.
Ohh and they have a green fanta drink here- it's exotic fruit flavor. It is definitely a mix between passion fruit and red bull. I kinda liked it.
Ni Hao is probably better than any Panda Express back in the states, so I can see it being appealing for many people. So if i ever pass through again and I need to choose between the KFC, McDonald's, or Ni Hao. I would definitely be saying, "Ni Hao" to my peeps at Ni Hao!
