What got me there? Something has to be said for family run restaurants that have been there for a long time AND consistently scored 90s on their health ratings for over 10 years. Service was quick and very efficient. I really appreciated seeing the nonstop teamwork in the kitchen trying to get all the dinner orders prepped. While we were there, there was a constant stream of customers queuing up to order and pickup. The food? Very good, well prepared Classic Chinese-American food...hard to find in NC. Seasoning was on point & food had the much desired wok essence. Portions were very generous. Will definitely be back!

Not sure if they put to much MSG in the food or what, but each one of us ate something different, so I'm not sure what they are putting in the food - the sweet Sour chicken tasted like fish also. At the beginning it was a simple misunderstanding I would tell them about the misunderstandings and they would fix it but with time it became a repetitive issue Every time I would go they would make comments like "She quite tall for her age" or "She is quite big" we would shrug it off but it even reached a point where they wanted photos or even BIRTH CERTIFICATES A restaurant should never reach the point of being invasive and borderline racist. Imperial Garden has long been my go-to place for Chinese food, but over my last few visits, I have noticed that the quality of the meat has gone down The restaurant layout is split into two rooms. The first room features booths and an elevated seating section, while the second room has tables for larger groups. The decor is simple and traditional. The service here is still very good. Although I haven't gotten my favorite waitress during my last few visits, she made a point to come over and talk to me this last time. She even remembered my exact order and that I like it prepared without onions, which I truly appreciated! Unfortunately, the beef itself seemed a little rubbery. A few of the pieces were completely fine, so I am not sure whether the meat was just overcooked or had sat under a heat lamp too long before being served. The fried rice seemed better than ever, though, as was the eggroll. I think I will need to start trying some new vegetarian or alternative dishes here on my next visits to avoid the meat, as I still really enjoy the local atmosphere and excellent service.

Portions are very generous, and we usually have enough leftovers for a complete meal the next day. It can get crowded during peak times, so I highly recommend a reservation. Two stand-by Chinese starters, Egg Rolls and Crab Rangoon, are a great way to begin any meal. The Egg Rolls are big, crispy and full of flavor. The Crab Rangoon are the best I have had anywhere. These won-won wonders are tender with a silky-smooth Cream Cheese and Crab filing. Imperial Garden does all the basic Chinese Chicken dishes to perfection. The Hunan Chicken, is slightly spicy and stir-fried with a few vegetables in a savory sauce. My grandkids love the Sesame Chicken). These bite-size chunks of Chicken are coated with a thick, sticky, slightly sweet sauce and liberally coated with Sesame Seeds. Two other favorites are General Tso's Chicken - double fried and sautéed with fresh green peppers in spicy sauce and Empress Chicken - marinated chicken, lightly fried and sautéed with broccoli, baby corn, straw mushroom & water chestnuts. Peking Style dishes are another winner. Whether it's Shrimp. Pork, Beef or Chicken; these tender morsels are coated in a tempura-like slurry, stir-fried to perfection and smothered in your favorite sauce. I like the Sweet & Sour Pork version. It comes with a bit of Carrot, Water Chestnut, Bell Pepper and Onion; and is served with either White Rice or Fried rice. Throw in a lightly-hopped ice-cold Tsingtau, sit back, and savor the moment.

This should have been my signal to change over to the Sushi bar up the street. Asked for very spicy Hot & Sour soup but tasted like dull beef broth with a few floaters of tofu & 4 sliced mushrooms! We got shorted an order of spring rolls - no great loss given the lackluster taste of the balance ordered. They need better air circulation as my clothes smelled like I had personally cooked the crap myself. In retrospect should have listened to my wife & rolled out for the California rolls!

They used to have very good bone-in spare ribs, but I haven't seen that available lately, I don't like their boneless. Good soup. The potstickers are OK. The dough is thick and gloopy and I don't like it, but the filling is quite good. Eggrolls are fine pretty much the same as you can find in most Chinese restaurants throughout the country. I like the shrimp lobster sauce. They do that extremely well and all their shrimp dishes have pretty large shrimp which taste quite fresh. Pork dishes are good. Food is prepared very fast. Considering all things, it's the best you're going to get around here and throughout most of the southern part of the United States, so unless you're in Chinatown in San Francisco or New York, this is a good place for standard American Chinese food. I'll put in the updated price list (menu pics) which is higher than it used to be, but quite honestly a very good value as you can see. It deserves three or four stars, but considering that it is the best around, let's just give it five stars which also means that I will be back. Take out only, or maybe you can eat in here, but your car in the parking lot has better Decor anyway.

The decor is much nicer with an appealing dining area where they offer table service. At same time you can order at counter for take-out or order on-line for pick up. We choose to sit down and be waited on. We were greeted immediately with our soft drink desire taken and menus delivered. I ordered Egg Drop Soup to start and Chicken Chow Mein and my wife ordered Pepper Steak with Onion combo. The soup which came with crunchie noodles was flavorful with nice amount of onion chive and egg floating. My chow mein was good and the small plate order was more than enough. The steak combo came with fried rice and eg roll. My wife enjoyed her meal and the egg role was the best we have experienced. To elevate the dining experience there is red pepper sauce and duck sauce on each table if you care for it. The waitress taking care of entire dining room is the wife of establishment. She took care of five tables like clock work never missing a beat. The chef/husband was out and spoke with each table and later came out with complimentary dessert donuts for each table. This husband and wife team work very hard to insure customers are pleased. We really are sad that this place has not been on our radar sooner.
