We had the Bento Boxes (one with karaage chicken, the other with beef teriyaki) and were blown away. The food was fresh, clean and full of flavour. Service was quick and efficient and the menu gave so many options. Price? Very affordable and on par to every Sushi place - if not a bit cheaper. When we walked in there was one other person - within 5 minutes it was full with people waiting. Half restaurant/half take away, but the dining area is clean, colourful and very comfy. Long table outside with stools would be great on a warm summer's evening. (Oh, and it's BYO). This was a great find in Caboolture South/Morayfield and we hope the locals get behind them and indulge in their fine food. Worth the trip to go up there and try them out! We'll be back.

The chicken Thai green curry was good, and the coconut rice with it was fantastic. They provide a bowl of complimentary prawn crackers when you sit down. If you're on the hunt for Thai, go by Siam Sensations, order too much, take it home in a container and enjoy it again for lunch the next day.

The victim, Tokyo Holiday Sushi in the Arana Hills Plaza. I saw there was a line up and though that this was a good indication of the patronage. As soon as I got tho the counter I ordered a tuna roll and a chicken teriyaki roll. I walked off and began to bite into the tuna roll. It was not ok. The cucumber was not crisp and tasted like it had spent the whole day waiting to be found. The tuna was way to creamy, like they put too much mayo in it. I thought the Chicken roll would be much better. I bit a little from the top and looked at the congealed jelly-like sauce and grey chicken. Nothing was fresh, I could taste it. I had to throw it away. Now its was probably my bias against sushi, please give them a try, perhaps not in the later afternoons.

Don't get me wrong, their Sushi does taste nice, it just doesn't stand out compared to other Sushi establishments that I have visited. They sell the usual Sushi rolls that you find at most places, such as Chicken and Avocado, Tuna, Tempura Prawn etc. I believe that they also sell rice paper rolls and dim sims, though I haven't tried those here. Tokyo Holiday Sushi is located inside of the Arana Hills Plaza near Coles, so there is plenty of parking, and all of the food is reasonably priced. I would only recommend giving them a visit if you are already at Arana Hills and feel like some Sushi, it isn't really worth going out of your way to give them a visit.

The shop is in the middle of the street, no drive…read morethrough or anything like that, and since it wasn't a busy night there were plenty of spaces on the street right in front. A big thing to note is that this place is cash only. They do have an ATM onsite in case you need it. This is actually a quite big restaurant with at least 8 4-top booths and additional tables and chairs set up in the middle. The restaurant is very likely family owned - while I was waiting an older gentleman came out from the back carrying a baby, and sat down at an empty table to play with him. I walked in and got an order of Mongolian Beef as takeaway, and it ran about $11 AUD. What was awesome was that the kitchen is open and all the veggies, etc are displayed in a deli case, so you can see how fresh everything is as it's going into your dish. They also have two TVs set up. I just watched the older guy play with the baby, they were so quiet I really wanted to take a picture to show my friends that have kids how it's done! In any case it didn't take long for my order to be done, especially considering they cooked it right then. It took me about half an hour to get home and start eating my dish, but it was still piping hot - too hot to eat even. It was in a plastic bowl with a plastic lid, and they supplied a plastic bag that's very clearly labeled as being reusable. Considering most places in Queensland make you pay for a bag, this was a nice touch. Overall the food tasted good, but for Mongolian Beef I was expecting a bit more of a kick of spices or something. The noodles were good, but I wish I would have just eaten this at the restaurant, because I think that having it in the bowl and waiting for so long before I could eat it may have impacted how well done they were. Very good portion size. Bottom line: definitely worth a return visit as it's fast, inexpensive, and decent.

Non-the less, my experience of pickup ordering has been pretty good too. If Jd Thai tells me that my order will be ready in fifteen minutes, it will be. If it is a busy night, they will apologise first and give me the approximated waiting time before finalising my order. I appreciate this kind of service and just these small things have cased me to affirm a loyalty to them. Obviously, the main reason for my constant return is because of their dishes, especially the Roast Duck Curry. Now I'm not usually a fan of duck of any kind, but Jd make theirs with an enchanting lychee, pineapple and cherry tomato sauce that makes me wonder what other restaurants are doing wrong. Another favourite of mine to get is the traditional Pad Thai. All the vegetables in the mix are thinly cut and still crispy adding to the overall texture of flat noodles and spicy sauce with protein. So if you get to eat in at Jd Thai, do it, but in my experience its just as good to take home.

From our experience the dine in meals are far superior, with generous serves and authentic flavours. Whilst it would be nice to take the same meal home, sitting in a room painted royal purple with Thai embroidery and photographs of the King on the wall only serve to encourage your senses to entertain the idea that they might be on holiday. The friendly service of the family owned business only adds to the atmosphere and makes you feel welcome whenever you choose to be there. My absolute favourite are the curry puffs. Beautiful fluffy melt in the mouth pastry that is reminiscent of spring onion puffs from the Flower Drum in Melbourne (yes it's that impressive), I could quite possibly stop at these. But add in the best plate of what we describe as dirty pad thai (aka real flavours from a well seasoned wok) and our taste buds are in heaven. Our other meals of curries, prawns, Singapore noodles and moneybags have all come up trumps for whomever we take here to dine with us.
