As far as I know this is the only Cantonese restaurant in Middlesbrough, personally I found the food to be amazing and since then I have eaten in several other Cantonese restaurants. When we eat there the restaurant was fairly quiet but it was early in the evening, my favourite dish without a doubt was the crispy duck, I have never tasted duck that was this nice. Everyone I have spoken to raves about this place, I have never heard any bad reviews, quite the opposite everyone claims it is the best off they have ever tasted. This is perhaps why their takeaway option is so popular. Price wise I found it to be quite reasonable for the quality of food. We popped in on 27th December expecting it to be quiet between the two big dates of Christmas and New Year but it was absolutely buzzing in there. Worried that we might not get we waited in a small queue at the door but only a couple of minutes later everyone was seated. I had no idea there were three stories and despite the restaurant being full the service was impeccable. Every dish was freshly made and brought to your table which made a nice difference to other serve yourself buggers we've been to before. The food portions were good but not overwhelming so you could taste multiple dishes without leaving any waste. The price was around £24 each which included a couple of soft drinks too which we couldn't believe given the amount of food we actually ate! According to a notice in the restaurant, The Wok Stop also provides a discount to Slimming World members, and they highlight that a stir fry meal is 4 "sins" on their meal plans.
