Easy check-in/check-out! The staff was very welcoming. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The normal amenites of wi-fi, flat screen TV, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, and even a pull-out bed were included. They were very gracious with out late check-out due to the fact that we were out late at the wedding reception, as well. Within walking distance to restaurants and shops. The staff was so nice and personable. I felt welcomed. The Artisan is super charming. Very clean. I stayed in the junior suite which is the equivalent of a small apartment. Came with a workspace and a living room. The room was inviting. Gave the vibe of a farmhouse bed and breakfast. Is that even a thing? Tons of natural sunlight. The sofa was plush. The hardwood was the original flooring. Oozed home. The bed was extremely comfortable. I wasn't able to get near it without wanting to take a nap. The bathroom was spacious. Like if you want to feel like you're at a getaway in the countryside this is it. I thoroughly enjoyed just lounging in my room. There was 1 con though, the shower curtain had mold at the bottom. They have daily turndown service. Which is a PLUS because this is not something a lot of hotels, especially chains do anymore. There is a restaurant downstairs. But you won't be burdened by them. I read reviews about the rooms smelling of food but that was not my experience. But the food was terrific. There is also a bar downstairs so you wont even have to the premises for much. There is parking attached to the hotel, they will give you a pass to park for the duration of your stay.

They actually had it set aside with her room number on it. I have never experienced such a level of customer service!!!!! Thank you to everyone at this hotel from the housekeeper that didn't just "throw it away" to the kind front desk manager that took my call at 12:30am and went to look for it---thanks to them I was able to sleep peacefully that night!!!! The pillows were quite old and lumpy. The worst was the cigarette smell which wafted in the room from the outside. The porch which wraps around the building is dotted with chairs & tables. Each table has an ash tray which is full of cigarettes. There appear to be people who live there, and they smoke quite a lot. The interior of the room was painted and decorated quite nicely, however the floorboards under the air conditioner were water-damaged. The Inn is elevated, so you walk up steps or a ramp to the first floor. Both the steps and the ramp are badly in need of refinishing and repainting. I was escorted to my room by the manager after checking in. I realized then I really didn't want to bring much into the room, as it had an off scent. Their website states they clean the rooms, but "time has its own fragrance". I've been in buildings much older than this one, & experienced the fragrance of time in a well-maintained historic building. This was not it. I realized after I left the next morning that the room smelled of cigarettes. I had to wash everything I brought into the room, including my purse. I use a c-pap, and had to change to a new hose as soon as I got home. If you, like me, are a non-smoker, do not stay here. If you are concerned about bringing cockroaches home with you, do not stay here. This is definitely not a 3-star hotel. I've stayed in 3-star hotels. Believe me when I tell you, this doesn't come close to a 2-star hotel. Maybe 1 star. Maybe. Whoever rated this hotel needs to do a return visit and readjust the rating.

When I called back the person on the phone decided to let me finish asking my question before rudely snapping at me that this is a hotel and hotels don't have separate bedrooms. Unbelievably rude reaction to what I believe is a reasonable question. I was intrigued by the historic hotel and was planning to stay there and now I absolutely will not. Good customer service is so important! No need to be nasty to people.
