Having an interchangeable system really is nice and the ability to return or purchase more parts as needed. We only shop for Elfa during the yearly discount sale around winter time :-). Otherwise the pricing is definitely high for low cost IKEA type items. Staff is always friendly and helpful to custom design and point out options that we might not have thought of. Also purchased stand alone Elfa items and used the Bilt app to put them together. Very nice to zoom in and better understand how to put things together.

No one touched it. No misuse. This wasn't cosmetic--it was heavy, installed at body height, and could have seriously injured or killed someone. I'm still shaken thinking about what would've happened if my kids were in the room. For this price point, basic safety and quality should be non-negotiable. Right now, I have zero confidence in their engineering or installation. **EDIT: uploaded are additional photos showing how poorly put together this was, as you can see the nails used to attach this piece are partially nonexistent and barely penetrated the wood. The project involved a small closet installation in a one-bedroom apartment, scheduled for two days. On the first day, the installer removed the existing floor-to-ceiling shelving and hanging units and transported all materials out of the apartment in a single elevator trip. My apartment was in complete disarray. After he left the apartment and without informing me, he incorrectly informed the home office that moving the new materials into the apartment would not be feasible using that same elevator that he used to bring the materials out of mu apartment. Based on this misinformation, I received an email the following morning at 6:43 a.m., the scheduled second day of installation, telling me that any further work would be postponed by six-days, including over a weekend. Despite all efforts to correct the misunderstanding, the project was halted. Throughout this issue, my sales person demonstrated no accountability. Instead, she blamed installation team members, was argumentative, and addressed me in a rude and condescending manner, including sending emails partly in all caps. This place is not worth the money or the dismissive and arrogant attitude. I would recommend any of the many other closet installation services in Chicago or the suburbs.

When you tend to be cluttered and organizationally challenged, getting some help is absolutely life-changing. She was very friendly and knowledgeable and had some great ideas! Before starting work on my cluttered office, Jan spent some time talking with me about what I use most often, what things make sense to put in a different spot, and what would be best to hide/store. As we organized, she frequently checked in with me on whether I liked where things were being placed, how they looked, and whether it would be easy for me to find and use. I will say that prior to her first visit, I did go through the office and try and put "like" things together, and I got rid of a lot of stuff I didn't need. This helped us maximize our time, and hiring her was a great way to motivate me to start making changes. She also worked with what I had available, so I did not need to go out and purchase a bunch of expensive organizing systems. The great benefit to this is that once you have your area organized, you can then decide and purchase exactly what you need for the space. I already had a bunch of organizing stuff from Ikea, and it all worked just fine. I started out with an office overflowing with books, office supplies, computer supplies, and hundreds of random things that I had stacked on bookshelves because I couldn't quite figure out where they should go. The end result was an amazing transformation. Not only is it visually appealing, but everything is easy to find and use. Her methods make sense to me and now I'm organizing more areas on my own. I was so impressed that I asked her back to help me organize my laundry room, which, you guessed it, had no useable counter space, and was cluttered with every cleaning and laundry product imaginable. Basically anything in the house I didn't know what to do with ended up there. She got that room whipped into shape so fast I could not believe it. I still stand there and stare at it when I walk by, thinking, why did I wait so long to call an organizer? Her rates are very reasonable, and looking at what we accomplished in a few hours, I wish I had done this years ago! I'm already planning my next organizing project.
