Having a semi new teacher in their class and not fully trained assistants (in training) their children's house was not managed well. My son has been in Montessori since 18 months old. Maybe their infant program is good (not sure) but so far from what I have seen their children's house needs work with AMS OR AMI trained teachers not simply MACTE... and staff who can manage their own stress and not use words like nervous, anxious or huff and puff, or eye roll, in front of parents or to students themselves. My son has experienced and been involved with more hitting and physical altercation with himself and other kids older and his age here and come home with too many to count incident reports with "here say" statements from assistants listening to other kids or not fully seeing what happened to say what did happen. It also has to do with classroom size and space per child and self management from other kids and my son when it comes to working on materials.. My son has regressed, he used to be fully potty trained prior to coming here now he makes more mistakes at home and is not listening as well.The other Kids even have no respect and come and touch me (a parent)...and are too much in my face and speaking and grabbing upon pick up every day in his class. They have had the students watch a Disney movie in class, have kids bring toys from home to "share", wear Disney on their light up shoes and or clothing, and be little gossipers/whiners... This is NOT MONTESSORI AT ALL. Dr. Maria Montessori would be rolling in her grave to think parents are paying for their kids to be exposed to things public school or regular daycare kids are... Now Guidepost HAS all the materials and look of Montessori but this location from my experience is all for show... some lessons here and there but mostly play time and stress management from the staff... I have been in Montessori myself till middle school age, and my son in CA from infancy-- in non corporate schools, that are a chain like this. I pray not all Guideposts are like this one!!! I am letting their head quarters know of the lack of real Montessori teachings and instead just gentle care.-- no real reformation for actions or separating if there is a pattern. This place reminds me of southern charm but with the back hand of instead of cussing its a "bless your heart" type of situation... Please go to another Montessori school if you can with your child don't waste your money here!!! Every time I had a concern it was put back on me or blamed on a situation or single person or emotion not a bigger picture fix! Beware, it is not a firm or even normal amount of of control the teachers or reassurance the staff SHOULD BRING PARENTS AND STUDENTS... It doesn't not seem regulated for actual lessen plans and not every child is getting their needs met as they should it seems. Please get new management and staff training required for all of these people representing Montessori! Its a shame and very sad. Probably not for everyone, but our daughter hated the chaos of a typical daycare. The staff has expectations of the parents which requires an adjustment period, but it is intended to provide the children consistency throughout their day. This school promotes a pacifist culture rather than an aggressive one. The curriculum leverages a student's interest to cultivate their natural abilities. For example, students interested in art can spend more time doing art while students more interested in math can focus on math. This allows the children to define themselves. Conflict resolution is also built into the culture and no staff member ever raises their voice at the children. The facilities do not have a commercial feel to them like most daycares. Operations are very transparent and not governed by corporate policy. COVID-19 created some hurdles but those were widespread. I can't imagine sending my child anywhere else.

We chose this school because it advertised the Montessori philosophy, fostering independence, following the child, and allowing children to learn freely in a respectful environment. Unfortunately, our experience was very different. This school placed a much greater emphasis on compliance and unquestioning obedience than on nurturing independence, curiosity, or confidence. During her time here, our 4 year old daughter was healthy, bright, curious, and full of personality, yet she was repeatedly singled out for age appropriate behaviors. She was asked to sit on a bench during outdoor playtime. During lunch, the children were expected to remain completely silent for about 30 minutes so the schedule could stay on track. When my daughter tried to talk with classmates or be playful as many 4 year olds naturally do, she was separated and made to sit with a teacher instead. The most concerning part was the change we saw in her. She began saying negative things about herself, such as that she "doesn't have good listening ears." She started biting her nails, grinding her teeth in her sleep, crying before school, and waking up multiple times at night crying. These behaviors were new and deeply concerning to us. We also felt she was beginning to be labeled rather than understood. No healthy 4 year old should come to believe that their personality is a problem because they need developmentally appropriate guidance. After we withdrew her and enrolled her in another school, the difference was remarkable. She flourished. Her confidence returned, her joy came back, and the emotional distress gradually disappeared. That experience confirmed for us that the issue was not our daughter, it was the environment. Every family has different priorities. If your goal is a highly structured environment where obedience and compliance are emphasized above all else, this school may be a good fit. But if you chose Montessori because you value independence, confidence, curiosity, and your child's emotional well being, our experience did not reflect those ideals. I intentionally waited seven full months before writing this review. I wanted time to reflect, separate emotion from fact, and ensure my review was thoughtful, fair, and truthful. After watching my daughter thrive elsewhere, I remain confident that this review accurately reflects our family's experience.

Picking some where to trust your child to is a hard decision!! One daycare we looked at was dark and depressing and we both immediately said no way! It's funny but one of my deciding factors on picking a place is it should be bright and open. We ended up picking KETK, which has been a great decision! I know each of the staff on first name basis, when we come in the morning everyone says "Hi Mika", each teacher knows her, and even at 3 years old she has a curriculum to follow each day and age appropriate goals she needs to hit! Miss Maggie is the main manager and a pleasure to work with she always informs me if anything is going on at school, and they can communicate thru an app which is very convenient! Daycare is expensive, but this place includes all meals which is a big perk, so I don't have to worry about making lunch for her each day. She will be starting VPK here this year and I'm excited to start the next chapter! Also I love their outdoor play area, they have 2 separate areas one for the 1 and 2 year olds and one for the 3 and 4's! And both areas nicely shaded, so the kids aren't out there baking! I told her that as long as my child was treated with respect, communication remained open--even for the slightest concern--and transparency was maintained, she wouldn't hear a peep from me.
